Folder Locked???

This is a weird problem that has shown up recently ....
I have a my system set up to read off my network from a DLNA server and a couple samba shares. I keep my most recent stuff in the samba shares and move them later to the folder maintained by my dlna server.
here's the issue ....
every now and then (starting about 3 or 4 months ago) .... I will go to a folder in the samba share and XBMC will tell me it's locked and ask for a username and password. Every other folder will read just fine in the samba share ....
In order to get this to work I will have to make a new folder on my samba share and copy the music into the new folder ..
Anyone have any thoughts?
