XBMC4Xbox

Does anyone know the pinouts for a standard headphone jack? I want to atach it via the motherboards left and right pins so that i can use headphones or the headphone to White and Red, so that i don't need to make an ugly componant cable.

You would need some sort of amplifier between the xbox and the headphones (google simple headphone amplifier for examples). You might be able to hear something, but the volume won't be very loud.
Edit: Out of boredrom, I plugged headphones to the white and red cable with an adapater, the sound is loud enough for me, you might want to get headphones with a volume control on it, you can also add a pot near the headphone jack if your headphones don't have a volume control.

No i need the pinout for the JACK, not the xbox board. i cant find which side is which on the jack when i plug it in. and it would most of the time go to the TV, through a stereo to left/right splitter. I just need to find which little solder-y bits on the headphone jack is right and left, after that i know what to do

see this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS_conne ... erminology the picture on the right. If you mean the socket rather than the pointy bit (I can never remember which bit is the 'jack') you should still be able to figure it out from that.

And I use headphones on my xbox without an amp and I find -30 volume is about right.

It depends on the jack. Easiest way to check is to use a multimeter, plug in a cable (3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS or 3.5mm TRS to 2x RCA for example) into the jack and put your multimeter to diode mode or resistance mode;
Tip on the TRS connector is Left, ring is Right, sleeve is ground.
Or if using a TRS to 2x RCA, the center pin of the red RCA connector is right, white is left. Grounds are the metal surrounding the center pin.

So put one lead of your multimeter to the tip of the TRS connector (or pin of a RCA connector), put the other lead of the multimeter to the connections of your headphone jack until you hear a beep (diode mode) or see a resistance (ohm mode).

I have a Splitter that splits The headphone to 2xRCA, i know which sections on the plug is which. On the socket, the solder points on the bottom, everything seems to be connected to everything, which is weird, seeing as its a stereo socket. that is why i am wondering which side of the sockets solder points are left, and the other right. Also, which color for RCA is left, and which one is right, because from that i think i can figure that out
