Will Display in 720p and play 720p .mkv (settles w/31mb free Ram)
In BETA stage because it doesn't playback all video container/codec types consistently(Will play everything from library aside from h264 w/Mplayer) Though that's not really a Skin Bug.

-In order to play 720p mkv files-
(1)Use MPlayer chache settings: Video/Audio/DVD cache - Harddisk to 512kb. Disable DVDPlayer full codec support.
(2)Set DVDPlayer video cache to defaults. set Youtube to video quality to "ask" & The trailers to "SD" in plugin settings.
(3)Set interlaced handleing to "none" in video osd
(4)Disable Stereo Downmixing
(5)Disable Home Menu "system/weather info"(SHOW WEATHER AND SYSTEM HOME BUTTONS!!!)
(6)Disable Flicker Filter
(7)Hide RSS feed
(8)Disable All skin and weather animations, enable always show trailers fullscreen.
(9)Enjoy 720p Transparency-Lite MOD-[BETA]

(10*)Good idea to use "digital audio" setting with full codec receiver decoding(Optical)

That would depend on the video codec. MKV is just a container - saying 720p mkv says nothing about the video compression.

Thanks though - Do you have some sort of changelog for the skin ? What's been modified etc ?

I don't remember everything I did, other than compress all of the weather and background JPEGs

(quite possilby that was all I did; However I swear I did something more than that just can't remember what, if anything)
Modded skin a Month or so ago.


bugs
need to fix trailers skin button/script.
need to align weather text for 3.3 series builds.
text doesn't appear in scraper settings.
frame drops when playing many dvds.

It's played every .mkv I've thrown at it containg (Mpeg4 video + aac or ac3 5.1) It's my daily use skin.


Is there a way to get XBMC4xbox to default to DVDPlayer when playing H264 codecs? And to use Mplayer for everything else?
so the quick fix is, hit white button then select play using> DVDPlayer to play sd h264.

i removed a few things that made it liter, but i cant rememer what i was just watiingo for free time so i could bring it out as well let me try your compress stuff with mine and see what i get

Does 128mb of ram help with .mkv playback? And if so, does it need the same settings as above?

IDK, don't have a 128 xbox.

64 xboxs play 720p .mkv files fine, if you use this skin.

mplayer won't play videos encoded in flac audio. I've used 5.1 640kbps dolby, lcpm, aac and mp3 with out any issues(though aac can be tricky when transcoding)

Settings Update: XBMC DMZ "use for internet streaming xbox only" network fileshares won't work.

This setting will free cache/memory while streaming internet content.

1. Manually assign XBMC a static network IP address
2. Login to your router and make a DMZ rule for the static IP you gave your XBMC
3. Change appletrailers quality to 480p(set youtube w/ask quality setting, as mplayer won't play new web-m ogg the new default youtube codec)
4. You can now use HULU 3.4.5 Plug-in "FREE HULU VERSION" it can be found in the bluecop addon repository in the addons4xbox plugin that now ships with xbmc 3.3 just
4. Make the following plugin settings so the video feed will not drop/buffer out.
