Hello at all. I have Xbox classic with softmod and Samsung dvd drive fault. How i can replace it with example LG 8164 or or dvd reader?

You can replace the Xbox DVD drive with a bit of physical/electrical modding but you'll lose all Xbox game playing capabilities.

There is/was at least one old IDE DVD drive that, with updated firmware, could replace an original drive but you'll be lucky to find that now.

The increasingly common advice is that if your DVD drive can't be fixed or replaced is to TSOP or chip the Xbox and use a BIOS with a No DVD check feature. The DVD drive still needs to be fitted although I believe there is a DVD power cable mod that bypasses even that need.

Install games etc from file downloads etc by FTP instead.

I have 3 LG 8164 and if possible i want replace original but faulty dvd drive and have again capacity to read backup game disc. I i flash example indbios and install lg 8164 can read backup disc?
