I havnt noticed a Samsung PSU before, what version Xbox was it in?
Ive got 5 HDD trays with cable support, all from Xbox version 1.0s
I'm sure everyones aware that 1.0 have a CPU fan...
Anyone know what that TSOP is?

- 1.0 CPU Fan
I've noticed other versions still have CPU fan marked on the mobo...
So, is it possible to take a heatsink and fan from 1.0 and install in a later version?

- 1.1/1.6 CPU Fan
I found a Toshiba-Samsung DVDrom with grey cable in a 1.6 (2005-08-04)
Oh and that sheilding is from a version 1.0...

- Toshiba-Samsund DVD
I also come across this fan inside a 1.4/5

- Case Fan
I got three 1.4/5 consoles. They say theres no visual difference between the two,
But this board I got is quite different. (this console was found at a landfill)
The traces on this board are like a bronze/gold colour appose to all green.

- 1.4/5 Motherboard

It was in a Canadian Blue xbox that I was forced to open to replace a broken face plate. The mobo inside was a v1.4.
also yes you could install a new fan header in that spot on the later revisions, only issue is its not a power management port. Changing the fan speed in the xbox will not effect it, the fan will always run at 100%.

Scored a transparent green halo xbox console today and came with this...
I vaguely remember the story behind these, There was a recall or something on the earlier consoles.
As the solder points on the power supply connector would crack and ark, apparently burnt a couple of houses down as a result.
Instead of repairing the countless defective consoles their solution was a new power cable with built-in safety switch.
If you knew about this, you could call up and give them your Xbox serial number and they would send you out one of these.

Ive never seen one that looked like that before, I'm more familiar with them looking like this:

Damn, thats ugly!
I'm in Australia maybe there different depending on country.
In regards to PSU, in Australia (240v)
Most common make for PSU from versions 1.0 to 1.6 are "Delta"
Having a closer look at some more of my consoles I found that 3 of 5 version 1.0s
Have a "FoxLink" PSU. Maybe these were the cause of the recall?

Coming back to this fan I found in a v1.4/15
I noticed my earlier post was too dark to see it...
Turns out its a SUNON (12v 3.2w)
Cant see the model number past the sheilding.
Most of the other fans dont have any identifying sticker.
