Im a newbie, I have updated to Jan'senglishxbmc4xbox, everything seem to be working well( play music, streams movies etc via home network) however I am unable to get Youtube to play the video, The plugin is able to search and retrieve the url, ( I can see the video icon) but it will not play the video,

As I said I am a newbie to this forum ( which is fantastic) any help would greatly be appreciated

Hi!

I think you have Version 2.1 but actuall is Version 3.3!
I have it uploaded the last Days and Youtube works fine without Login!
When you have the Last Version the errors come from the installation please make a fresh intall!
Recomed is that you Ftp the zip to the xbox and extract with the Filemanager from your old xbmx Installation!

With The Xbmc Log Uploader can you easly upload a Debug - Log for Me!
First go to Setting System and make Debug - Log on !
Then go to scripts XBMC-Log Uploader and make the settings for your Email and ok and then Run The Script and You have The Link To the Debug Log on Your Email!

I have (obviously) deleted the passwords etc...but still throws the same error with passwords/user name in. LOF works perfect in your previous version.
I have tested a few plugins & all working (youtube, [removed] etc...)
btw I added the video plugins: Iplayer, Apple Movie Trailers Lite, PinkBike & Gametrailers

Update, I have found evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.ini sitting at the botton of C: directory,

I have moved them to E/DASH:

Now I can boot into unleashx...... Not able to connect via FTP now though??

I think the problem is, I am unable to fresh install, I have just looked in E: directory and the DASH folder is missing, so I am unable to load Unleashx, Evox etc,

Is there any way I can FTP one of these programs across and then run it??

Everything i seem to read is asking to Burn to DVD etc, There must be an easier way!!

Ok you say Liveonlinefooty works on moment with my old Version ?

I have a Question why you not use the adapted The Trailer Addon from me from main Eden!
The AppleTrailer is the old one and please give Film On a chance is verry nice!

yes - LOF definitely works on your last build but not this one.
I used it last night to watch the far better Borussia Dortmund draw against Man City!
I have both your builds on my E:\ drive - wonder if that is not helping?

Not tried the Trailers or FillmOn addons yet - will do soon. Thanks for the headsup!

Sorry , i can it not understand thats not work !
The log say it can not access or create under Addon_Data plugin.video.lof!
I have it on this moment tested with same install what you have from the same .zip what i have uploaded and it can create the Directory for cockie.lwp
Ok go to Q/UserData/ Addon_Data and create a Directory plugin.video.lof - make a restart and run it again!
Problem is the installation from the zip (Jan'sxbmc4xbox) i think it will only works with a clean install!

I had to create Addon_Data directory & also the plugin.video.lof directory.
LOF seemed slow after that - I rebooted & all back to normal now.

But the adapted Version from me can create this Folder self and this that what is on the last Version from my xbmc4xbox!
I think it give problems when it not is a clean installation!
I mean install not over a old version!

my XBOX is set up with an Unleash front end & allows me to choose XBMC to boot from its main menu
here is my set up in the E:\ partition



your previous version is XBMC (default)
your new version is XBMC2 ( I will set to default when I get it right
I boot your new version via the unleash filemanager - I haven't overwritten your old one with the new one
whats the best way to go about getting a clean install? format the whole of E:\ and put your new one on?

Is there an update for the YouTube plugin coming soon? I can only get it to work on some videos, but even when I do the amount of dropped frames is ridiculous! And this is with SD video.

start xbmc2 go to the filemanager and rename xbmc to examle xbmcold!
run xbmcold and rename xbmc2 to xbmc .
make a restart and it is your new default build !

with a clean install i mean this ftp my zip to your xbox and unzip it with the filemanager but not over a old xbmc!

no i have tothing change on the network cache!
when i run my xbmc4xbox with the confluece light skin i have on the settings /video /playback
Dvdplayer full codecs support off
Dvdplayer fast mode ..... off
H264 Skip Loop Filter default

when i run my buid with mosaic skin DVDplayer full codecs and DVDPlayer fast mode on!
With the confluence light skin it have not plenty ram free for full codecs support but i think you have the H264 Skip Loop Filter not with default!
