Ping results:
Before Playback: bytes 32 Time <1 ms TTL 64 constantly
During playback: bytes 32 Time <1 ms TTL 64 constantly
I stopped the movie aftre about 5 minutes (since it was buffering from the beginning last time), cleared the movie cahce and played it again with the same result. Stopped and played a different movie (ISO DVD5), which did buffer quite a few times, but at the time the ping still showed the same result.
Could it be an issue with the decoding or the fact that it is an ISO (however I do not believe it is limited to ISO). I primarily play DVD rips (DVD 5 and 9), no DIVX.
I stopped the ping and then pinged the NAS, but get the same result, but with every now and then an =1 or = 2ms result, but at that time no buffering occurred.
There is one thing I changed to the NAS config today and that is that I stopped the SABnzb service that was running. Even though it didn't download anything it could use of some resources. I know the Synology CS407e is not the fastest NAs but this 4 bay baby should be capable of streaming just fine. Accessing the Video folder on the NAS while playing a move from a subdir of that folder didn't work
