No, definitely not. Only Linux on the Xbox can do that. (not possible with XBMC4Xbox.)
And thats not because noone ever tried, its because its next to impossible with the Xbox kernel.
Your options are: (listed in order of personal preference)

- DD-WRT Client-Bridge. (modded router)
- WiFi Bridge (sold as is)
- Original M$ WiFi adaptor. (WEP only without hacks)
- A computer in ICS mode. (Internet Connection Sharing, NOT recommended)

Or my personal preference use a set of homeplugs. Yeah I know strictly speaking it's not wireless but well... it sort of is wireless! No visible wires and similar speeds to what you would expect from using an ethenet cable with no drops.
I know xphazer isn't a big fan so I'm ready to be slated on this one

I use an old fon router that I got years ago when they were giving them away free.
I hacked it and got ddwrt on it, so I just put it in client mode.
I also have another one that I use for my printer.

Will this one work? Will I be able to use an XBOX usb controller port adapter as a power source?

Will I be able to use an XBOX usb controller port adapter as the power source? Or will doing that require to me to reboot more often in order to keep my network connection?

Re: Does XBMC Support USB WI_FI Adapters?
that should work. but I'd suggest getting a peice of hard ware that's powered by it's own power supply though. you wouldn't need to sacrifice a controller or open it up. plus you could move the antenna several feet away if you need too.Redneck9 wrote:Will this one work? Meaning do all of the apps/emulators supply constant power to all 4 controller ports?Redneck9 wrote: Will I be able to use an XBOX usb controller port adapter as the power source? Or will doing that require to me to reboot more often in order to keep my network connection?

If you don't hack it (cant help you with that, i never had any) you can only use WEP with it..
WEP should NEVER be used.. It can be cracked in just a few minutes..

You are going to need the disc to set it up...Dawscaus wrote:So if I have the official M$ wireless receiver what problems am I going to run into?
I actually successfully flashed it with another firmware, I can't remember which one off the top of my head, but I know it worked and had a web interface.

Re: Does XBMC Support USB WI_FI Adapters?
Maybe someone can correct me on this but I think the speed is very limited, not sure it would be any good for streaming if that's what you wanted it for. I could be totally wrong on that but I do seem to remember someone mentioning this before.Dawscaus wrote:So if I have the official M$ wireless receiver what problems am I going to run into?
Re: Does XBMC Support USB WI_FI Adapters?
it worked fine for me, it was just a pain in the ass to setup cause I didn't have the disc.whufclee wrote:Maybe someone can correct me on this but I think the speed is very limited, not sure it would be any good for streaming if that's what you wanted it for. I know these used to be the "Offical" wifi adapters, but good luck finding one and I think there not even wireless G if I remember correctly, Like the others mentioned your better off using any adapter in client bridge mode

Re: Does XBMC Support USB WI_FI Adapters?
For best speeds I suggest the AC Home Plug adapters. My second choice is a cheap router that can be flashed with dd-wrt. I have used both. The Home Plugs in my case definently were a bit better for streaming video.

Yes that will work fine powered from a controller port USB conversion, if you look on ebay you can get those for less than $30, i use a D link and Aerpro mini wifi adapters on a couple of my xbox's.Redneck9 wrote:Will this one work?
