Post by cashonly »

Hello, do you know if the replacement caps from ps2/ps3/xboxone work on xbox controller?

I do not know the full answer to that but I would suspect not.

But what I do know, because we had a thread about this on another forum about such matters last year, is that you can replace the whole Controller S analogue stick itself with ones from the original Dualshock PS1 or PS2. They attach firmly to the Controller S stick mount, no gluing or DIY necessary, and work without any significant issues.

Pictures of such a modified Controler S were provided.

The only problem apparently is that the Dualshock heads are slightly bigger than the original ones so they have to be gently forced through the holes in the Controller S casing.

So, if you have any old, worn out PS Dualshocks, they can be cannibalised for this purpose.

If you mean thumbsticks I replaced Controller S thumbsticks with those manufactured for that 360 crap controller. I got them on Ebay and although a bit different they still fit well on those metal sticks. Works really well and no one will notice. Kinda proves that good old S controller is more or less the same as that 360 thing that unfortunately got D PAD messed up by "engineers".

I quite like the XB360 controller but I've had issues with both my wireless and one wired type. The official rechargeable battery pack simply died on me after a year of use. No recommended technique could get it to charge up again. I'm not a fan of rechargeable batteries but I'd never had this sort of thing happen before.

The wired one developed a fault where is kept on disconnecting whenever any game used a lot of heavy rumble. Took the thing apart, looked for loose connections or dried/cracked solder joints but nothing obvious could be seen.

In the end I retired it and keep it for spares for my other wired one. Knowing the sticks can also be used for the Xbox Controller S is helpful information. Thanks.

I just got an green s controller, where the left thumbstick cap was broken. So I just ordered 10 360 caps on ebay. They where cheap as chips. I will post here when I get them to show how good they fit :)

I've used 360 controller sticks as replacements for OG Xbox S controllers many times in the past. Always worked like a charm! I have a pack of 50 sitting around for any controllers I come across. :)
