You can install a softmod before desoldering (or cutting the wires off the chip) since you can already run unsigned code.

Have a look in my sig, use the XBHDM version, once you have the files in C (xboxdash.xbe, NKPatcher folder, media folder & xodash folder) & the Prep folder in E disconnect the modchip. On the next boot you will be presented with the 2016 Softmodding Tool installer, just press the (A) button to install the softmod fully.

If you need any help just let me know.

Thnks for your help, one last question:
My hdd is doing a strange noise and i think its dying, so i will buy a sata to ide adapter and plug a new hdd on it. Do i need to do a backup of the files on my almost broken hdd? the new hdd is 250gb, how do i need to format it (how many partitions, 64k cluster size?
Thx :D

What exactly did you do? What files? You quoted my video post so do you mean Chimp 261812?
(List the process in detail)

If you can reconnect the modchip & list the directories in C & E, also make sure the HDD is locked to the Xbox EEPROM.
(If you watched the video you would have seen I said to lock the HDD)

Just to note, your Xbox is fragging, this has nothing to do with the HDD, you must have done something when removing the chip, or the Xbox was goosed & that's why it had a chip installed in the first place.
