I just got my first XBcase and I think it is the most awesome case ever made! I have the MCBX case already and this is just so much cooler! Mine is black with the original LCD. But now that I have ben doing some research on these cases I see that they made a few add ons that I really want to have!

The first one is the SliverX addon for the front panel. Where can I get one of these! Man they are just so awesome! Second is the hard drive board that allows you to switch between the 2 hard drives. I want that one also. If anyone knows where I can get these or want to sell me the one that they have please let me know! The SilverX version that I want is the 2.1 unless htere was a newer one made also!

My case will be here in a week or so. I will post picks of it when it gets here.

Those are both so badass. That Blue Xtender box is an absolute monster but the Crystal XBOX looks amazing man, that light scheme is just right.

Nigelp,

Can you crack open that xtender to show us your cabling? I'm thinking of buying one for a X3CP setup.

I would but its a bit of a pain to put back together, extender comes with its own IDE cable that fits the three hard drives and DVD drive.it the extender panel with the buttons on it to select a drive has 4 cables soldered to it which go to each hard drive and your main power source. And then there's three wires you need to solder. The red one attaches to the back of the power/eject PCB and the yellow and or and you solder to certain points on the motherboard. If your looking on where to solder them you can just Google x-tender install u think there's a diagram for it on xbox-scene or something lol

Do you have all IDE drives, or have you managed to get an adapter working with the xtender 40-wire cable? I'm contemplating buying a roll of 80-wire and terminators to make my own.

Thanks for the description. no pictures, no problem. i was concerned about the power/eject connections, but it is a simple approach to just connect directly to the power PCB.

I'll have to just grab an xtender while supplies last and see how it works with the SATA adapters. nice work nigel

I have all IDE Drives a 500GB and two 250Gb's. I just bought a SATA to IDE adapter card but i haven't picked up a SATA Drive yet to test it out.
I've heard with the adapter VS no adapter that the xbox reads a lot slower with it than without it.
I'm sure that would be quite the intense setup with 3X 2TB SATA drives connected to that IDE cable.
I know the xbox only supports up to 2TB so 6TB max would still be crazy. :D Hope it all works out for ya.

Does anyone know where I can get this kind of work done? I have a black system with x3 and X3CP, and would like blue controller port LED'S, blue LED jewel, and maybe some windows on top

Case Mods Showcase

Post by budbandito720 »

Just got this from a guy here in the states for 130 that's shipping included

Had a 250gb ide and a bad dvd drive

I Replaced the drive and have a 750gb ide going in it this weekend.

Plan on doing a Tron theme with blue leds in controller ports, cuts on top of the case to look like a body suit with leds beaming out and a light disc as the jewel

Having a friend help with this over the next months

@budbandido720,

I would love a Tron themed black and blue case. Would you mod mine?
By the way, does your X3 chip and X3CP have the wire for the HD and LAN LED'S? Mine did not come with that cable going from the x3 to jthe 3 points on the board, and I am trying to find an alternative

Btw, check out how I have set up my X3CP LCD screen:

Case Mods Showcase

@XC-3730C

Hi thanks for liking the tron theme im thinking of doing.. I will have to do mine first to even see if it comes out like i want it.
Also im not sure how you would want yours done.

I would suggest thinking of some ideas and trying it yourself to see if your able to. You dont have to be a pro just buy some extra case tops off ebay for 10-20 and a rotary tool and your set

I was just lucky meeting Nextelhalo and learning from him

Also my x3 came with the hd and lan leds. I can ask around and see about that fix for you.
And your lcd set up is nice.. Great work

Sweet!

I just don't have the time or steady hands (nerve damage from a previous job) to do something like that. I would like blue controller port LED'S on mine, and I want the top of mine with a blue jewel and windows around the X on top like this (but blue).

I'm not sure if it will help but if you pop over to xbox-scene with this link: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php? ... 7062403090 buddies name is king he does his own custom job maybe he will hook you up with a case that's customly cut with LEDs. :D

I'm tempted to make my own jewel from acrylic. Right now. But I don't own milling equipment to give it a custom emblem with that cameo effect, and I hesitate thinking how probably poor an emblem would look just stenciled on or otherwise 2-dimensionally adhered to the underside.

Have any of you blokes tried this? How did it result?

If you make your own jewel you could possibly make a stencil of what design you want and then etch the glass/acrylic to make your design. It wont be milled with a 3D look but it might do what you need. I've never done an xbox jewel but i've etched some glass for a sub-box and it turned out nice.

If you want it 3D have you considered using a Dremel with an engraving tip?. How I would go about it would be to make a templet out of tin with your design cut out of it and Dremel what is exposed through the templet. Much the same way you use a templet when using a wood router. The templet is mainly there should the tool's tip grab and rather than cutting into the jewel where it isn't required, it will hit the templet. You could do it freehand but then you don't have the insurance the templet would offer.

Sounds doable, but manual carving is bound to have imperfections and that wouldn't fly with me. I guess I'll explore 2D using different materials and lighting on an acrylic blank. There must be a combination that strikes a decent balance.
