2TB HDD & In-Game Reset Issue

Post by goatmilk »

Hello gents, been lurking here for a few weeks after my recent interest in the old Xbox resurfaced. Great people here.
I finally successfully updated the HDD from PATA 500GB to a SATA 2TB using the adapter I bought from Fry's. It worked great.

The adapter is Kingwin SATA to IDE Bridge Board ADP-06
The HDD is a Seagate NAS one, it's got a red label.
The modchip I have is an Xecuter 2.6, not sure which BIOS I flashed but on the bootup screen it has that purple "EVOX" on the upper left corner.

So I have about 100GB left on each partition, F & G. Tested out a few games last night to make sure they work and whenever I did the in-game reset (holding the 4 buttons), it gave me an error.
The screen would flash the UnleashX logo and then go straight to the error screen, I forgot the code.

Is there a fix around this? Because it is painfully slow for the box to boot up every time if I use the power button. Estimate's around 20-30 seconds.

Grab the code and let us know and we will help.

going to be a little vague without it although it does sound like a simple path error.

Welcome Btw ;)

Okay, got the error code. It's 7. I googled it and it says most of the times it's the IDE cable issue.
I switched out the original 40 wire with the 80 wire. Everything is connected tight in place. Don't know what the issue is.

Highly likely to be a side-effect of your SATA to IDE converter. Advice here:
