This thread is meant for anyone and everyone to contribute custom splash screens...

Please, try to NOT post any unnecessary comments; if you have a custom splash you'd like to share, upload the image, display it, share your reasons (if you wish) and leave it at that!

That's a very nice splash Dom will be using it for sure!

Here is one I have been using for some time, its not mine got of this site (or maybe the old one?) Not quiet splash screens I know but close. Here are some intro videos, I converted them to 720p using Buzz's ffmpeg command line.
To get them working go into skin settings:

Confluence Lite: General Settings, Startup Window, Enable playlist at start up and then select the video
Xtv: Startup, Use Startup Playlist, select the video

Sorry I do not know of any download source for game previews etc.

It is easy enough to make your own; Xbox many games include "attract" videos somewhere in their folders which are ideal . They can be in various formats, sometimes .XMV but most commonly .BIK video and occasionally .WMV. There are a lot of suitable .MP4s on YT as well.

There are Xbox preview video conversion to .XMV tools so .BIK and some other ones are easily converted to a Xbox/XBMC friendly format. You may have to chose bit rates and resolutions carefully of YT sourced preview videos in particular. The Xbox can only handle just so much and so I usually convert to just 480p.

The XBMC basic preview window in most skins is very small and can handle better but if you're talking full screen background videos at 720p then you can run into juddering, freezing and/or sound problems.

I was only talking about Intro Videos for XBMC, I have game previews already through Rocky's downloader. I have a few of the ones in 5l1p's post, but curious if anyone had the rest. They were well done.
