Hi all;
Noticed on August 30th. that Veetle is no longer working for us.
Waited til now to post thinking that it would have been solved already.
Or is it just us?
Using Jan'sEnglish which has the Veetle without categories, (which we prefer).
So... Tried several other Veetles old and new from various places... without success.
Tried a uninstall/reinstall of Jan'sEnglish, still Veetle does not work.
In all cases of Veetle not working: it loads up the channels ok, but when any channel is chosen,
it always tries, but then either shows the 'Playback Failed' dialog box, or simply returns to the channel list.
Veetle is a favorite in our household so any help much appreciated.
Thanks.

it requires a (simple) modification to the player libraries. however, it's quite a hack, as they have modified the video container header ID.

This is the active discussion thread I've seen on this:

Hope to see this get all worked out. Had just gotten back into my XBMC and was loving the Veetle script. Then poof! They always have to mess things up.

Hi all;
For anyone interested, I went to check out the discussion mentioned in above post.
Post #244 there claimed to be a fix for the xbox. (replacing avformat-52 and 53 dll's.)
Sadly, it did not work for me, but some of you guys may want to try for yourselves,
as I may have misinterpreted the instruction or whatever.
In any case I'll continue to monitor that discussion as well as this one.

Did you select 'Full' in Video - Playback settings?Amps wrote:Hi all;

Thanks plugh;
That did it.
So, for anybody else then...
...follow the instructions from post #244 as mentioned above, then...
in xbmc choose settings->videos->playback, and then turn on 'DVDPlayer full codec support'.
Thanks again plugh.

if they changed the codec id to stop unauthorised access, it will only be a matter of time before they change to something slightly more clever than changing the FLV header. I just thought I'd mention this although I'm sure you already realise it.

Re: Veetle - NoGo since Aug 30.
Hi all,
I tried running XBMC 3.2 stable on my xbox, hoping that would fix VEETLE and no luck. I'm new to XBMC but I'm good at problem solving, and this one has me. So the more help from everyone the easier it will be to fix.
Thanks Everyone.

The post 3 above yours details the fix. There's a link to the thread posted earlier where someone posted the patched binaries for XBMC4XBOX. Then you change the settings as mentioned above. I did that on my XBMC 3.2 and Veetle was working again. Hope that helps.scotty6280 wrote:Hi all,
