Is the Weather scraper broken?[Resolved]

Post by Redneck9 »

Can no longer get weather info. Using 3.3 default scraper.

I updated script modules... not sure if that fixed the issue, or if the weather servers were offline.

Seriously Redneck9 ?? BuZz, the only guy who can fix your problems.. ask you for a debug log and you simply ignore it.
Guys, stop reporting problems without a debug log. Any problem you have you need to provide a debug log. You guy should know that already at this point.

I think that I'll never understand what is so hard in providing a debug log.

@Redneck9
You need to read this and post a debug.log if you want help, there's no way to guess how your problem can be resolved:

No, he asked "even_almighty" for a debug log.

I'd post one, but it's fixed now after I made those changes...

(If there is anyone currently having a problem with weather I'll post a log, or if BUZZ asks Me and not even!!!)

Updating the script modules has nothing to do with the weather. You should always post a log when reporting problems. No one should have to ask, eg with your original post before you fixed it.

And updating script modules from xbmc.org repo is very unwise. You are likely to break plugins.

Oh, kinda thought that but wasn't for sure.

I'll remember that.

How do the script modules that xbmc4xbox doesn't support break plugins?

xbmc4xbox does support script modules. but we are not compatible with many xbmc ones hence if you overwrote one of ours with theirs it could break stuff. you only need script modules that are needed by applications - and they will be installed automatically if you use addons from our repository. Installing script modules that are not even used by anything is a no-op.

Apologies, I've not been around for a while.
I've not done anything to try to resolve the weather issue I had, but it seems to be working fine now.
Possibly a site outage?

Is the latest xbmc version using the same provider? I found it works sometimes but more often than not it can't download weather info.
