Re: xbox issue - cant do anything
I do not recognise the skin at all. It might well help knowing what it is. It could just be that it works from the context menu (white button) or you need to click on the folder icon you can see in the bottom right to bring up the menus. I seem to remember there is one old skin which used a very ropey cursor system that could easily disappear off screen.
If the skin is broken or incompatible in some way then you can get problems as, unlike UnleashX, there's no automatic reversion to a default or another skin.
If you still have FTP access it should be easy enough to replace the problem skin or the whole XBMC installation if necessary.
There is also this from the XBMC wiki pages:-
"XBMC is set as my dashboard, and boots to a black screen when I turn on my XBOX. What can I do?
You can reset all XBMC settings to defaults, by holding down the two thumbsticks at start up. If this is unsuccessful, you can force XBMC to start the Error Recovery Mode, which will give you FTP access, by holding down the White and Y button down during startup."

I would not try replacing the skin or using either of those other options until someone who recognises the skin you've used and maybe can offer some more specific advice replies.
BTW the general rule I've always followed about using XBMC as a main Xbox dash is not to change the skin until you've tested it on copy of your basic main dash installed as an app.
