Does someone know if XBMC recognize and differentiates the mpeg-4 part 2 codec like it does with Xvid, Divx, mpeg-1, mpeg-2 etc.
Because if it does we can create new mpeg-4 flags for our beloved skins. At the moment mpeg-4 doesn't flag at all you just get an empty space.

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
Maza, you could try this in Confluence Lite:
Make a 100x48 .png image and name it mpeg4video.png
Put it in media/flagging/video/
You'll need to create the folders /flagging and /video
Remove, Re-add a mpg4 video from library and play it with DVDPlayer.

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
Thanks xbs! I'll do that, but I'll use SLik instead of Confluence Lite. When done I will give a update if it worked or not.

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
I created a very amateurish PNG. image, which I can't get put into a xpr file. When I try to compress the textures I either get an Cannot init D3D device: 8876086c error in Windows 7 or an Cannot init D3D device: 88760827 error in Windows XP. I've searched the internet on these issues but found no working solution (yet). I want to ask xbs if you can create a better looking PNG (if not I can upload my ugly looking one), put it in an textures xpr and upload it.

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
I'm not sure I understand, to access those folders I have to go to media/textures.xpr/flagging/video. That means going into the textures.xpr or am I completly wrong?
ps. I uploaded the PNG image

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
No, you don't need to get into the .xpr itself...
XBMC will read textures from ouside the .xpr if the texture isnt't found inside the .xpr
Goto media/ and create a folder named flagging/ inside that folder create another folder named video/.
Put the mpeg4 texture inside the video folder.
i.e.
..
media/
------> flagging/video/mpeg4video.png
------> Textures.xpr
Are you using XPR Express to uncompress the .xpr?
The texture looks perfect btw

Re: XBMC codec recogniton
Didn't know it could work like that, which it did by the way. But you have to name the PNG just mpeg4instead of mpeg4video.
Yes I used XPR Express to uncompress the .xpr, but for some reason it didn't work.
Thanks for the help, finally no empty space but a nice texture which looks good on my tv btw.
