Yes, let it finish & then the next time you go in it will only scan for a few secs.

XBMC is caching the icons for the games.

@Massamo
You're right that the behaviour is not good, I also recognized this although I only had ~50 games installed.
It's not because of loading images to RAM (that would take 2secs in worst case) but because of scanning the whole games folder each time (hard IO checking, and maybe trainers I'm not sure with trainers). At the moment I have not setup my xbox but will take a look at this in a month or so.

Enable your HTTP server and run these two commands to query the programs database:
Check the last column (iSize), if that's -1 it will try to calculate the size recursively for that entry - if you don't let it finish, it will do that again next time until it succeeds, and that's maybe where the time is being spent, see:

Code: Select all

CProgramDatabase::GetProgramInfo(CFileItem *item)

i have the exact same problem...
i'm using xbmc4xbox ver 3.5.1, everytime i go into "Games", it scans through all the sources, it takes almost a min for my 2tb hdd.
i did let it finish without cancelling, but it does a scan everytime i go back.

is there anyway to stop the scanning after the first time?

@koyoutou
Can you please see my previous post, use the links (click to open in a new tab and then change XBOX to your Xbox's IP address) and then check the results or upload to places like pastebin.com or xbmclogs.com to see.

Or enable debug logging and then go into Games, let it run for a while and then upload the log (see link below) - we will see if it outputs anything useful in there. http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... p?f=6&t=65

This thread has been dead for over a year, but I'm experiencing the same issues.
I've started a new thread here to hopefully get some attention and included all the data you requested:

thanks.

I just replaced my Xbox HD with a 2TB disk, so I was wondering. If you have more then 400 games, don't you get the 240 gamesaves problem mentioned here?

https://www.epforums.org/showthread.php ... -and-notes

Or do you keep your savegames under 240?

I am not sure, but I thought all savegames are saved in the same folder (Udata) on the E: drive?

In the past I rented a lot of games and never deleted any savegame. I always restored my savegames after a disk replacement. The save dates are messed up after that, but you can still continue games from those saves. I have 324 folders in udata now, but the xbox is still working.

Maybe the 240 savegames story is just a myth?

The limit is meant to be 240 folders per folder, never tried it.
( I have a script that removes empty directories )

I will need to test it at some point.
