XBMC4Xbox

I just installed XBMC4XBOX 3.5 BETA4. I go to Programs -> Plugins, then I try to run the Addons4xbox, and it does nothing.

Any ideas? I would really like to install some addons and XBMC skins.

you are missing system/python/python27.dll - probably an incomplete install. Check if the file is there first. If it is, you may have a filesystem issue.

That file was missing not only from XBMC4XBOX 3.5b4, but from the XBMC on the HeXen disc. There is a file called python27.zlib though. So I downloaded python27.dll after doing a google search, inserted into system/python, and now, when I activate any addon or script, XBMC freezes.

No man. You need to completely reupload the beta in a fresh folder. Make sure it works.

You need the Python from the Xbox build, not just any old random DLL you find.

Could you tell me where I could get that dll? I did a Google search on it, but no luck. Why it's not included with the beta build, I have no idea).

It is part of xbmc4xbox, and any "builds" should include it. If they do not, you need to contact whoever made the build. I have not seen any incomplete builds floating around though, so I suspect you have incorrectedly unpacked or missed the files when uploading.

Try getting the beta 4 from BakedPi here on the forums and using 7zip to extract it. Then use Filezilla to upload the files from your PC. Both 7zip and Filezilla are free and available on both Windows and Linux OS's.

I got B4 from the isozone. It was also in the latest HeXEn release, and neither included that file. I got B4 from Bak3d Pi, and now Addons4xbox finally works.

I currently have the Xbox-Classic skin selected In XBMC. Is there a way to display an Emulators section on the home screen? I wouldn't mind replacing the Pictures section or Music with Emulators.

Also will Addons4xbox let me download more skins?

I had a look on theisozone - and indeed it is missing those files. I don't recommend you use that build.

the addons4xbox installer does not allow installing of skins - there are skins released on the forum though you can manually install. Note that many old skins may have problems without changes, due to being unmaintained.

I'm the one that upped it over at isozone. there is only 2 places i download XBMC from, Eurasia and from emuxtras when someone posts it there. so i have no idea where the .dll's got to since all i did was unzip and recompress with 7zip. I either downloaded a dud file from someone or they someone got lost in the process. Sorry about that everyone!

That is being fixed as well. It is uploading as I type.

Ok good. The XBMC in the HeXen release never is successful at installation.

Does anyone know if it is possible to add an Emulators section at the home screen, or is that specific to certain skins?

Even though I got addons4xbox working, none of the video addons play any videos.

And if I try videos from the [removed], when a stream does work (say from billionuploads), it gets to the Loading Video screen, then freezes the XBOX.

you don't have the latest youtube plugin - where did you download that ? try the one from the xbmc repository (and there are some problems with the latest one also currently)

i have installed the same one from the iso zone as well where can i get a complete version of xbmc4xbox 3.5 beta 4 as i am encountering the same issues thanks for any help i recieve

oh i should have been a little clearer about my issue ive installed add-ons like [removed] but they keep hsveing an error an any other add-on just doesnt stream anything im still new to the xbmc world so any help is greatly appriciated
