Modded original xbox HDD issues

Hi All, new to the forum...

I've picked up an original xbox with xecuter 3 mod and screen, unfortunately the shop selling have wiped the HDD.

Is it possible to retrieve the data wiped via pc or the xbox ?

I've also got another modded xbox but this one has the bank switches at the bottom and HDD is locked so unable to get any further, possible to swap the HDD's over?

I'm new to the scene and not very technical in the modding department , so any help much appreciated.

I managed to burn slayer disk 2.7, but unsure if that can restore the HDD, if at all possible.

Not sure about slayers but if you boot up with a recovery disc such as hexen you'll be able to use the file manager to check if anything is there and then ftp key files off.

Chipped consoles dont need a locked hdd so just boot slayers and rebuild the hdd, i doubt you will be able retrieve anything from the wiped drive.
