5.1 audio?

Post by sahib12 »

I've got the optical leads and they are all set up, but i cant seen to get 5.1 audio working, is it even possible on xbox? Do i need to connect the leads to somewhere else because ive got 5 wires, 3 for the video and the left and right audio all plugged into the tv.

I think you need the official component pack as it has a tos-link output :-)

It's the socket you plug your optical cable into on the Xbox. It's not on the Xbox itself, it's on the component cable or high-definition adapter.

I must confess I'm struggling a little, because in your original post you said "I've got the optical leads and they are all set up....."

The pic was too big to upload but here is the lead that i've got http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/181280261976?nav=SEARCH

So any of those two links that you posted will support 5.1 audio right?

the links heimdall posted support optical audio - do you have a digital a/v receiver / 5.1 system with optical in ?

the cable you bought has no digital audio. just component and analogue left/right audio.

if you can solder, you could solder a digital audio (coaxial) lead to your cable.

Or you can do the low-profile approach.
