Well, you could always connect with a shared folder on your network or stream using an addon. But I am guessing you are being specific to adding movies to your XBOX. I know there is a USB dongle mod. Once configured, I imagine you may be able to add movies using that method, but I have not tried it.

USB sticks are limited to 4GB, and many (as time goes on I suspect increasingly the majority) don't work even if they are under 4GB.

FTP, SMB or streaming from the Internet are the only scalable solutions.

You may need to connect both the NAS and your Xbox to a switch, or you might get away with a crossover cable and static IP addresses, but it will work without a PC once you have configure the NAS server.

You still need to set up DHCP or manually set IP addresses, give it a name, etc.

Short answer: No. The Xbox can only support one hard drive at a time.

Out of curiosity, what is your current set-up like? Are you using XP or Windows 7 on a main computer? Do you already have a wireless or non-wireless router? Is your XBOX already on your network?

USB can be flaky and slow but it works, our puppy chewed thru my 15m lan cable so i have been using a 4gig USB to transfer files till i get a chance to properly hardwire it.

I do a controller port to USB on all my modded consoles as it makes it easy to copy files to consoles that i give family members that dont have a network or way to FTP.
