(SOLVED!!!)FTP New xbmc to xbox

Hello,

I am sure this issue has been reported and resolution is out there but i was not able to locate it. Apologies in advance.

I recently softmod is my original xbox. Here is how i did in case it matters.

I am running the old xbmc on it and i tried to FTP the new version to xbox using FileZilla but after 1208 files successfully transferred it stops and Filezilla shows status: Disconnect from server.

I got the xbmc 3.3.3 from this site.

here is how i softmod my original Xbox.
1) upgraded my dashboard to 5960.
2) used softmod installer deluxe v5.11.
4) used splinter cell
3) did all back up, ect.

Please help......i cant wait to use the new xbmc.

Transfer the zip'd XBMC to your Xbox then extract it using the file manager.

To solve other FTP issues, make sure you only allow 1 simultaneous connection on your FTP client. In the tutorials section there is a thread to help you with FTP speed and other issues.

You weren't trying to over write XBMC were you?. .

To further elaborate on what xman said, you weren't trying to overwrite XBMC while running XBMC, were you? You always need to run another dashboard when updating any dashboard.

Yes as xman says it could well be you've been trying to overwrite a build that's already running, this is NOT safe so make sure you follow my guide on how to FTP correctly. Also, have you checked you have enough space left on the HDD? I always recommend keeping at least 1gb free for cache & metadata.
