Like the title says really is there a best version xbox/cpu/gpu combo?
I know the Samsung dvd drives are ment to be the best.

Interesting question... here are some more factors:

v1.0 has two fans (one for the GPU) and is therefore louder
V1.0 and v1.1 have 1MB TSOPs, so you can flash a wider range of bioses to them
v1.6 has a different video chip and can't do VGA without an external converter
v1.6 cannot be TSOP'ed

I have a v1.1 and a v1.6. I think my v1.6 runs cooler, so it may use less power, but I've never got round to measuring it.

I personally like 1.2- 1.4s myself but I chip all my machines. I find they are the most reliable for parts as they are all using the same basic parts on all these models. 1.0 and 1.1 machines power supplies suk and 1.6 machines have a video glitch when they first boot up.

Thank you for the info bro those also fall into the "easy tsop write hack" that iv recently been reading about iv got 6 workings xboxs here ranging from v1.0-1.6 so iv no shortage of choice lol
