Anyone with a Microsoft Media Extender for XBOX A2A-00001 ?
[edit]
Actually, I don't need to borrow one, I just need someone to give me some data from their xbox (a remote code that will be displayed on the screen)
[previous message was]
Does anyone have one of these that they could loan ? I am based in the UK. Want to improve/check support for this in the codebase (and integrate it so it works out of the box without having to fiddle with xmls)
this is the kit:

No, but I've had a look in the logitech database and I might have the right remote codes downloaded to my harmony.
I'll give it a try if you like.

thanks for the reply - I have a Harmony one actually, which I have been using for most testing (setting it to xbox MCE remote), but I need to confirm a button remote code on an actual remote (the bottom right enter button). it's either the same as the "ok / select" button or it will produce a different code.

Re: Anyone with a Microsoft Media Extender for XBOX A2A-0000
the background to this is, previously I had my harmony one set to xbox remote. the problem is, having 3/6 controlling volume then isn't needed, and the numbers can be used for inputting text or specifying time offset in video etc. There has been an unmodified keymap xml for the xbox MCE remote, which has sat in a rar archive in the source tree since forever.
I am currently working on integrating this with the current keymap, and having a setting to switch remote between standard xbox remote and MCE remote. this means those with a programmable remote like the harmony remotes can set their harmony up to be the XBOX MCE, and have the ability to send more buttons to the xbox.

If anyone has one, please make an "advancedsettings.xml" in UserData/
with the contents
reboot, and press "ok / select" and note the number displayed on screen. then do the same for "enter"
with the contents
Code: Select all
<advancedsettings>
<displayremotecodes>true</displayremotecodes>
</advancedsettings>

I've got almost the identical remote though not the MCE version, but the one for my Telus optik tv STB ( runs Windows MediaRoom). I use it with the xbox dvd dongle and the dvd function programmed as RCA dvd player.
Might not be the same results but still might be useful
OK/Select==244
Enter==244

thanks - having a think and studying the code, if the buttons did give a different code, then they wouldn't work the same currently as there is no define for any separate "Enter" code, but just in case I missed something good to check.

Mannnnnnnnnnn, I just programmed my Harmony with codes from the normal Xbox remote. Gonna need to switch after seeing all the buttons on that MCE remote.

BETA 1
Possibly make enter button confirm text entry and clear button to erase in search box?
Record button is currently set to take screenshots.
Back button causes crash during streaming video playback.(don't know if anything can be done about that)
Live TV button brings up scripts.
possibly make right and left arrows ff and rw at a faster rate, similar to functionality of the controller's right thumbstick.

Hi BuZz,
Might you have a keymap.xml you've used for your Harmony One remote and any advice on how to set it up to its best? Going to try to wire this up later! Doing so in the past has never quite gotten it perfect...
Cheers!
