Hi there modded xbox psu has failed in need of a 1.2 to 1.5 version psu needed has to be uk voltage
Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
Hi I might have one available but I'll need to double check later if it is compatible for you
EDIT: I've got a picture of it in this online album - not actually sure which version xbox this is wrong. Hopefully someone else can verify, don't do what I did and blow a motherboard up with the wrong psu!

Post a pic of the connector from the bottom side. If I can see the placement of the pins I can tell you what version it will fit. The 1.6 and the 1.2-1.5 have the same connector but are wired different. They will kill your motherboard if you use the wrong version.

Ah thanks for the help guys - this place is really a repository of knowledge! Krissy I can get back to you tomorrow evening with the PSU type assuming you haven't sourced one by then

The way I can tell is looking at the pins in the connector. The 1.6 is almost fully populated and the 1.2-1.5 has them here and there. Once you look at them you can tell right away. But that chat is a sure fire way of telling!

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
I also see they forgot about the minebea 1.0/1.1 PSU. They also have a total different color wire scheme. Also the samsung 1.2-1.5 PSU is also a little different in wire color and it also has 1 less wire. But those power supplies are not common at all. As a matter of fact I have the only 2 samsung PSUs that I have ever come across in the over 200-300 xbox consoles that I have opened.
I have every US version of the power supplies if you guys what pics of them for reference. When I see any ones that are different I grab them and hols them to the side.

I've uploaded some more photos onto the link above, could anyone confirm what version psu this is?

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
Thats a v1.0/1.1 PSU with a Version 1.2 - 1.6 motherboard connector.
Thats why it doesn't match any of the above diagrams.
Someone has done this to it, or MS reused old PSUs.

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
That's interesting - does that mean that these mineboa psus, which I've heard have a good reputation, can be wired for a 1.4 as well then?
One last question, is there a way to confirm whether it's 240v? I'm sure this one is, theres even a checkbox stating if its 120 or 240v and the right box is ticked off!
Krissy, if you'd like to buy it how about £6 including postage?

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
That is a Delta PSU and I guess someone has swapped the connector. They did a good job with it though. I would say it is a 220 model because it looks exact the same as the 110's that I have except 1 part above the power connector. I have never seen that part before and I checked 4 of them here. I have never seen a 220 model in person to confirm this but like I said it does not match a 1.0/1.1 delta 110 model.
BTW llama sells a adapter to use the minebea PSU on the 1.2-1.5's. So yes they can be rewired or buy the adapter to do so. I have 7 of the minebea PSU's and they are awesome and the best! They never fail!

Re: Original xbox psu 1.2 to 1.5
One thing that really needs clarifying, the power supplies are pretty much interchangeable except the 1.6 versions and not all the wires are required. You do of coarse require all the voltages...3.3, 5.0, 12 volt etc as well as the Power OK signal wire and the power On wire but you certainly don't need "all" the red wires and "all" the black wires or "all" the orange wires and these wires can be different colours as well depending on the manufacturer. The reason "all" the wires aren't required is that most of the wires are "commoned up on the mother board itself meaning they are all soldered together anyway. A safe way to check what is actually requires would be to use a meter to see what terminals are soldered together. Just to give you some ideas, I metered out a 1.0 board and all the reds in the picture I posted are all common meaning only one wire is required . The blacks are the same story. I'm not saying cut off all but one wire for each voltage but don't be afraid to trim the number of identical colour wires down. Another idea is if you have a 1.4 power supply and need a PS for a 1.0- 1.1 machine, you can cut and join the wires so the 1.4 PS now has a 1.0-1,1 connector on it. This will work as will the reverse, using a 1.1 PS on a 1.2-1.4 machine. Just be real sure you have the PS OK and the PS ON wires correct. You can mod a 1.6 PS but more intense work is required but you cannot use an earlier PS to drive a 1.6 board.

OK i understand where yous are coming from but i dont really know how to rewire a psu and i wouldn't want to risk my modded xbox i paid 170 pounds for that's where i really wouldn't feel confident at all
