Confluence lite fanart for games?

Post by AwesomeNurd »

Hi, I would like to know how to add other views to Programs, Games etc section (Poster, DVD like in the video library) and if possible a fanart for games?

Thanks

hey looks great i was thinking of adding a slide show for fanart, even animation style frame by frame which i have done in the past with flames and water and smoke and other stuff, the skin i did that to was jx720 the modded by notthesame im not sure where is it im sure someone has it on there xbox i use to have but i changed my xbox hd and forgot to grab it, anyways im sure it would be a great idea but maybe alot of work it might run slower on the xbox, like i said looks great, if you want to remove the transparency so it is a solid picture or edit something i can leave examples how to remove and add or change something, other then that im sure you will be fine how it is, if you need help let me know, if any questions ask me anytime.

Thanks a lot mate, I hope you can help me to add more views for MyPrograms.xml, I tried many times buy without luck. I was trying to add the views from the video library mode (Fanart, PosterWrap etc...)
I am also wondering how to make the fanart look like the second screenshot.

options like this should be default in the release.

thanks for the info on how to get fanart to work.

a small video preview (not full screen) would be awesome right below the box art. :D

then people need to open tickets and / or provide patches on the bugtracker.

you can ask for it in the bugtracker like BuZz was letting us know, i could add it as a button and all that i can add this as an option so you can choose a folder and it reads them as you wish but i guess i never got around to it, i have done it one another skin that i dont have any more which got left on my other xbox hd.

If you've lost any of your skins they are still up on the old repo mate.
https://code.google.com/p/skins4xbox/so ... unk%2Fskin

I keep meaning to change the old XAI addon so it's just a skin installer, it's very simple to do I just haven't had time to do it. Maybe buzz could incorporate these skins into A4X though, I haven't mentioned it to him yet so maybe I'll ask first. Buzz if you're reading this what do you think?!

It's a reasonable idea, but I don't really want to spend any more time on that python, but rather want to move towards a better solution for management of addons.

@buzz, I totally understand that mate and agree with you.

@NOTTHESAME: If you can get to grips with using SVN I'll add you as an administrator and you can edit your skins whenever you like on the repo. I'll try and change XAI at some point so it's literally just a skin installer.

http://www.sockshare.com/file/4E8AA7332DE0EF9C
here is most views in myprograms if anyone else wants them try them out enjoy

how does this work?

you just add this to your skin and replace the old files(be sure to back up your files)

now you should have most video views in your programs with fanart,

the fanart is also used by making a folder named Fanart in your E or F drive.

once you have this folder download a wallpaper that you want make sure its .jpg name it the same name as your game your gonna give fanart, heres example

Halo
Halo.jpg

this goes for every other games,emulators, shortcuts for roms.

enjoy

it is?

explain how to do this?

i don't know why i can't figure this out.

i make a 'fanart' folder in my f drive

then put a '.jpg' file in THAT folder named what?

example:
f:/fanart/fbl/fbl.jpg

i'm using final burn legends for example.

do i name the '.jpg' file 'final burn legends.jpg' or after the file directory name of the file?

example of my directly:
f:/emu/arc/fbl

all games/emu's have 'default.xbe' as the exe. is the 'jpg' supposed to be 'default.jpg'?

should it be:
f:/fanart/fbl/default.jpg

not trying to be a pain, but my brain is jumbled from other things going on and i wanted a break from the things i'm working on.

mahalo!

Just a guess, I didn't test it.
f:/Emulators/fbl/default.xbe (assuming the xbe is there)
f:/Emulators/fbl/default.tbn (cover)
f:/Emulators/fbl/fanart.jpg (fanart)

there was a < missing from the 1st part of the patch, use this....

<control type="multiimage">
<description>Games Fanart Background image </description>
<posx>0</posx>
<posy>0</posy>
<width>1280</width>
<height>720</height>
<imagepath background="True">F:/Fanart/$INFO[ListItem.Label].jpg</imagepath>
<aspectratio align="center">scale</aspectratio>
<fadetime>400</fadetime>
</control>
<control type="multiimage">
<description>Games Fanart Background image </description>
<posx>0</posx>
<posy>0</posy>
<width>1280</width>
<height>720</height>
<imagepath background="True">E:/Fanart/$INFO[ListItem.Label].jpg</imagepath>
<aspectratio align="center">scale</aspectratio>
<fadetime>400</fadetime>
</control>

if your using confluence light open the MyPrograms.xml in notepad++ and the 1st part will look like this...

<window id="1">
<defaultcontrol always="true">50</defaultcontrol>
<allowoverlay>no</allowoverlay>
<views>50,51,500,505</views>
<controls>
<include>CommonBackground</include>
<include>ContentPanelBackgrounds</include>
<control type="group">
<include>Window_OpenClose_Animation</include>
<include>CommonRootView</include> <!-- view id = 50 -->
<include>FullWidthList</include> <!-- view id = 51 -->
<include>ThumbnailView</include> <!-- view id = 500 -->
<include>WideIconView</include> <!-- view id = 505 -->
</control>

add the code above and make it look like this.....

<window id="1">
<defaultcontrol always="true">50</defaultcontrol>
<allowoverlay>no</allowoverlay>
<views>50,51,500,505</views>
<controls>
<include>CommonBackground</include>
<control type="multiimage">
<description>Games Fanart Background image </description>
<posx>0</posx>
<posy>0</posy>
<width>1280</width>
<height>720</height>
<imagepath background="True">F:/Fanart/$INFO[ListItem.Label].jpg</imagepath>
<aspectratio align="center">scale</aspectratio>
<fadetime>400</fadetime>
</control>
<control type="multiimage">
<description>Games Fanart Background image </description>
<posx>0</posx>
<posy>0</posy>
<width>1280</width>
<height>720</height>
<imagepath background="True">E:/Fanart/$INFO[ListItem.Label].jpg</imagepath>
<aspectratio align="center">scale</aspectratio>
<fadetime>400</fadetime>
</control>
<include>ContentPanelBackgrounds</include>
<control type="group">
<include>Window_OpenClose_Animation</include>
<include>CommonRootView</include> <!-- view id = 50 -->
<include>FullWidthList</include> <!-- view id = 51 -->
<include>ThumbnailView</include> <!-- view id = 500 -->
<include>WideIconView</include> <!-- view id = 505 -->
</control>

job done, add a folder on your F drive and name it Fanart with the capital F! add fanart named the same as game, so if you have fifa 07 installed call the fanart fifa 07 if its Fifa 07 name it Fifa 07.jpg

Many thanks for this NOTTHESAME really does work a treat

all the best
