guide modchip
Re: guide modchip
Quick google search.
Also you don't need to connect the L1 or BT points to the mother board, as these were used to disable enable the modchip & change the led colour when enabled.
Just connect the BT point on the modchip to a ground pad on the modchip, to enable the modchip all the time.

Re: guide modchip
Found some 1.6 install Pics that may help. I don`t know how hard
it is to find pcb`s but the wire install here looks clear enough.

Re: guide modchip
You have to connect the D0 point, that tells the Xbox to boot from the LPC bus.scroeffie wrote:so i installed the pin thing and connect bt to ground on the chip put the chip on the pins
start xbox nothing happens ? what is do point ?
(You only need to ground the D0 point since you won't be booting the retail bios as its not needed.)

Re: guide modchip
Error code 06 means that hard drive is locked with different key than saved on motherboard. It seems this hard drive comes from another Xbox. Have you swapped HDDs between consoles?

Re: guide modchip
Like MrMajst3r said, error 06 is the HDD cant be unlocked.
So you're using the wrong Hdd for that Xbox motherboard.

i would not matter with chip ?
Re: guide modchip
The chip has nothing to do with the eeprom, its a small chip above your TSOP. (Yours is a Winbond TSOP) it holds keys & settings for your xbox.

Re: guide modchip
Buy a new hdd & format it on the Xbox, now that you have a chip you don't need to lock it.
Or if the hdd you have in front of you is not a stock hdd, see if you can unlock the drive via XBHDM.
(It may have had a master password set.)
Or if all else fails read here.

Re: guide modchip
yes and no,scroeffie wrote:is it possible to unlock a hardrive with a x3 xbox because i have one and the x3 has a special menu
if you have the hdd lock code yes if not no with some exceptions.
if you originally unlocked it or using some specific tools it sets a master password to unlock it if you lost the user password.
psyko_chewbacca's xblast os has the ability to try to unlock your hdd by the back up passwords commonly used in these programs
see here:

it is worth a try you may be able to unlock it ?
Re: guide modchip
Hello,
just found DuoX2 GS (blue) from old stuff. Obviously I had to buy second hand xbox, but I can't find any guide for how to install GS. I can find for normal DuoX2 and guide always says it applies for every version of DuoX2, but.. no it doesn't. GS has some kind of extra circuit board which is never covered in guides. Is there any good guide for specifically DuoX2 GS?
Edit: Circuit board says "1.6" so is it only for Xbox version 1.6? Installation would be just to solder pin header to mobo, chip to pin header and wire to d0? AND to remove extra pins, like in this diagram http://www.knightdiscounts.com/VideoGames/modchi153.jpg pins between H and I?
