My recommendation is do not touch your C:\drive at least not until you get some reliable specialist advice.

Your main dash launch XBE is already on the C:\drive (evoxdash.xbe).

I guess you want to move the whole installation to C:\ and the obvious question to ask is why?

Standard practice for XBMC4Xbox use as a main dash has been or at least was always to keep it installed as an app in E:\Apps or on a another drive in a similar fashion and use a shortcut XBE replacement for the main dash, in this case evoxdash.xbe, with a path to that location's XBMC4Xbox's "default.xbe".

One of the reasons for keeping the main XBMC4Xbox etc folder on E:\, F:\ or G:\ particularly with the likelihood of the installation increasing in size over time, is very much the problem you're asking about: the limited space on the C:\drive which has very little fat on it.

Thanks for your reply.

The reason I was trying to move XBMC4Gamers to the C drive was to free up space on my E drive.
I have continued testing all the xbox games on my hard drive and I have started to run out of room
on my E drive for game saves. I think not messing with the C drive and keeping XBMC4Gamers dash
on the E drive is a good idea. I want to clean up my E drive but I'm not sure what files are necessary.
Attached is a view of the files on my E drive.

Do I need the HexEn Tools and HexIns files?

Thanks again

as you are running a tsop and not a softmod ( you can do this with a modchipped xbox too ), I would create a folder called msdash in your apps folder on F and copy your audio, msdash, fonts, xbodashdata, xodash folders and
xbox book.xtf,xbox.xtf & xboxdash.xbe files to the folder you just made, Rename the .xbe file from xboxdash.xbe to default.xbe

Check it works fine and then you can remove all these from your C drive.

Coming back to this a bit late and looking at the later E:\drive post I'd guess the Dash file there is your XBMC4Gamers install which suggests that if it is your main dash the evoxdash.xbe is a shortcut to that folder.

But without more information on the contents and my lack of knowledge as regards TSOPs and the BIOS being used I'll step back from this so others can help. I hope blighty knows what he talking about because even with a chip or TSOP messing about with the C:\drive location whilst not critical could cause trouble.

Moving stuff from C:\ just to put something else there seems pointless just for freeing up space on E:\. I don't know how big XBMC4Gamers is but surely that and the other stuff there doesn't add up to the 4GB - 5GB you'd expect an E:\drive to have as free space.

I'd like to see the volume of the contents for E:\Apps, Dash, Games etc because something there must be taking up a hell of a lot of space. HexIns even with the associated tools should be under 1GB. It can't be moved as it is written specifically for that E:\HexIns location. To move it you'd have to re-write the config.xml and that is a job only for the very competent.

Finding out exactly what is taking up all the space on E:\seems to me a safer first step.

Thanks for your reply!
Here is the contents of my Apps, Dash, and Games.
My Apps - 371.4 mb, Dash - 142.8 mb and Games is empty.
HeXEn Tools is 9.94 mb and HexIns is 329.1 mb
Hexin tools.png
HexIns looks like it has a few directories that I can possibly remove. Like HeXin tools and Appz. Do I need 2 hexin tools?
The folder that is taking up the most room is TDATA - 3.48 GB it has 410 directories.
Is that normal?
I have 133.6 mb free on my E/ but I would like to free up a 100 or 200 more mb for game saves.

Thanks for all your help

TDATA at 3.48GB is obviously the culprit, the rest looks pretty normal to me.

A lot of Xbox games don't write anything or comparatively little to TDATA. However that is where DLC is usually installed.

I've just checked the, still reasonably easily found, all Xbox DLC pack which includes both updates and DLC and the latter is over 4.71GB unzipped if you installed it for the 62, presumably all, Xbox games which had/have DLC.

That's what I think you need to look at to free up E:\drive space.

If you do not have any of the games for which DLC is installed on TDATA then it makes sense to delete that DLC content. There are things like online multiplayer maps which you may never use now that could be removed too. I'd be surprised if you did not have a backup copy of the DLC on your PC already but backup the TDATA folder to PC or find the DLC/Update pack if you haven't and then just install the stuff from it for the games you actually play.
