I have a xbox classic with a smartxx v3 chip in it (oldie).
Suddenly my hdd broke, didn't spin anymore.
I still have a couple of hdd's lying around which I could use.
I kinda forgot how this smartxx menu worked in the past. How could I use another drive?
I only get error 13, am I screwed?

Re: Broken hdd
I don't know much about chips but I'd assume that one works like any other.
Error 13 or 14 is typical of a dash failing to boot for one reason or another - in this case it is because there isn't one.
You need to install the new HDD making sure the jumper(s) are set to Master then cold boot an AID or HeXEn disc (DVD-R/ImgBurn). With a chipped machine the disc should launch without problem. Either will walk you through the formatting and dash install.
If it is a larger HDD make sure you remember to reformat the extended partitions F:\ (and G:\ if used) afterwards with the correct cluster size using either Chimp 261812 or XBPartitioner v1.3.
