Fixing Xbox for Friend. R7D3 Pads are gone. 3-wire trick, Sharp flash

Post by SwampFox56 »

I'm fixing an Xbox for a friend who ripped up the R7D3 pads required for TSOP flashing the system. The system is a 1.1 Xbox mobo. I screwed up recently and flashed a 256k bios to the Sharp flash chip, and the system will only boot using the 3-wire trick.

I attempted to reflash the system with the correct BIOS, but the system refuses to flash a new BIOS to the chip. I keep getting "Flash failed" in Gentox.

I think the issue is R7D3, I tried to solder to some VIA's to bypass the lack of pads, but the system does not seem to recognize that they're connected. In theory the system should not boot with those two points connected, but it does which leads me to believe that I'm not connecting them right.

Here's a picture of the ripped up pads, and where I attempted to solder to, in order to bypass those pads.

I disconnected the 3-wires when attempting to flash, those VIA's I soldered to to bypass R7D3 were connected (I think). So what am I doing wrong here?
