Boot Problem after new thermal paste - Softmod
Hit a snag this morning. I had softmodded Xbox and did a hard drive upgrade on a V1.0 system, no issues, booted fine a couple of weeks ago. Today i decided to open up the box and replace the CPU and GPU thermal paste. The heat sinks came off easy enough, cleaned the old crusty dried up paste and layed down some arctic silver. Put everything back together, and now the system is rebooting twice, and then blinking red/orange. I'm not sure what to do. Tried another IDE cable and also out the original softmodded hard drive in to see if that would do anything but no. Also, no video output while this is occurring. Any suggestions?

Av cable ? Give it a clean or just check connection , or try another cable , I have one box that does this unless I waggle the Av at the back before boot up ...

6. Orange/Red flashing
Fix: Flashing Orange and Red (red and orange) usually means you have a lifted trace under the lpc pinheader(the reset signal for pin5) - especially on v1.0 motherboards.

I read a tutorial last night on that fix but not really sure what I need to do to fix. I read it like I have to bridge two points, the picture wasn't that clear. Do I just solder a wire? If so, what gauge?Rocky5 wrote:6. Orange/Red flashing

30 gauge kaynar wire should be fine.
