Will chimp format 2tb correctly?

Post by JustinBeaird »

I have a softmoded Xbox should I just clone the default partitions first then run XBPartitioner 1.3 to format f/g partitions to 64k cluster. What would be the best steps?

I would go the Hexen disc method, much simpler imo.
You need: softmodded xbox, hexen disc, new hdd
1. Eject dvd tray and insert Hexen disc. Power off.
2. Connect hdd IDE to new hdd. Supply power to new hdd from external source (ie take power from your pc)
3. Power on xbox. You will get an error 5 (or other errors) which is expected.
4. Unplug hdd IDE cable but keep external power to new hdd on
5. power off xbox and connect hdd IDE cable back to old hdd.
6. power on, after a while Hexen disc will load.
7. when Hexen disc is loaded, unplug hdd IDE cable from old hdd and plug it to new hdd.
8. Select relaunch option in Hexen disc menu.
9. After Hexen disc is relaunched, select "2. Softmod Xbox Tools" option.
10. Select "2.4 LXHDM Softmod Disk Upgrade"
11. Select "2.4.2 Preparation" and press ok to all warnings
12. Select one of two: "2.4.3a Build the new disk (NTSC)" or "2.4.3b Build the new disk (PAL)"
13. Eventually Evolution X will pop up, at this point select "LOCK", this is very important
14. Select "BACKUP" (unless you already have a backup of eeprom.bin in a safe place. in which case skip this step)

If you use Chimp 261812 you won't need XBPartitioner, as it formats the HDD correctly.
Download Xbox Softmodding Tool & Extras Disc
XBMC4Kids Mod

Xbox Gamertag = Connxtion
PSN ID = JCRocky5
