Custom flubber animations with X2 bios?

Hi chaps,

I've been using ind bios for a long time and from this xbmc4xbox post I had used some of the custom .x files for when the xbox boots up.

More recently I've been using X2 5035 as either I've been using psyko_chewbacca's awesome XBlast chip or the xbox is a v1.0. I wanted to know is there a way I can modify the x2config.ini file to point to the same .x files?

Cheers

I do remember it only working with indbios i read it somewhere a while back.

you would have unpack the bios and patch them in with ida or something I guess?

Not sure on patching the bios with the animations, I was hoping it was as easy as just modifying the x2config text file with a path to the custom .X files. I really liked some of the animations that had been put together by other users here but the reason I switched to X2 5035 is that I sometimes use coinops and some of the button combos interefered with the reset/shutdown features of ind bios 5003.

I've read about ind bios 5004, maybe I'll give that a go and see if that gives me best of both.

There is a program called X2 Config Maker and it will do everything your needing plus some.Run it from your PC and it has built in FTP so you can easily throw your newly edited file to your xbox. You can edit all of your bios options including Flubber/Startup stuff. I know you were talking about animations and I dont think X2_5035 will let you change the animations to something different but you can tweak the startup flubber animation by changing color, fog or no fog, machinery or no machinery etc....

Cheers for the info Nextelhalo, I could make out and edit some of the options by just reading through ini file but that config maker tool would make it much easier to set colours.

You're right though as it wasnt exactly what I was after, I wanted to still use the custom 3D rotating models instead of the flubber so for that I'll give ind-bios 5004 a try.

For those of you who were after the animations, the links in the original thread in the first post have now been updated - thanks to DavPow and Rocky5 for sharing these!
