Resurecting faulty Xboxes...

I've been playing around with the pile of Xboxes that have been sitting quite a while in a corner of my flat!
Most of them are not working, FRAGing being the most common fault
But I have managed to get a couple of them working lately, using a variety of software and hardware.
The hardware I used was a serial Eeprom reader, my PC tower still has a 9 pin serial port a modchip, and a HDD USB IDE/SATA docking station.
Software I used, in no particular order, Ponyprog, Aomei partition assistant, Oracle vm virtualbox, Windows 10 disk management to mount a VHD disk, and HDD maker. All of these programs are free
What I have ended up with is a way to create a locked Xbox hard disk that can be used in any softmodded console, that has had the Eeprom changed to a custom one.
If anyone is interested in more details let me know and I'll post a full guide to the procedure
