No glossifiers or anything like that, just wanted to see what some straight up black plasti-dip did. If giving the xbox a different look is not your thing I highly recommend doing this, makes it look pretty much new. I wouldnt count on the "smoke" to do a good job on making a crystal case smokey.

Take the metal sheilding out of a crystal case and paint the underside Don't remove ALL sheilding it will cause interference on the screen.

I like that grid pattern. I thought for a second that you had actually made cuts in the lid in that pattern, that would be some good cooling for the hard drive.

The case is actually cut by the grid pattern.
CPU: 30-45 ° C
Hard Drive: 33-43 ° C
Fan speed: 20%
Nothing has changed on the temperatures.

Okay...time to make myself look bad,I guess.
My old case mod. Found it on a old HDD. IIRC,this one was a dead 1.0 (I broke some traces near A18 and A19) with a dead stock HDD. I did this out of PURE boredom.
Still got the case but it's 100% empty.
Sorry for the quality,it was taken back when I didn't have a good camera, only a (very) crappy generic tablet front camera.
Still got a 1.0 working at this moment, running 5 different dashes (UnleashX 0.40,XBMC4XBOX,EvoX,tHc Lite and the stock MSDash 5960.),with a 80GB Maxtor drive (soon to drop in a 200GB Hitachi Deskstar, anybody having one - is it silent?),Phillips DVD-ROM from a 1.4 (RIP Samsung drive, you were the best ),X2 5035 TSOP and a HUGE Duke controller. Not that fancy,it's your usual stock black Xbox.

Had to lower the res of the pic,
Hi all, my 1st attempt on any physical mods, Blue LED strips via molex pass through, cheap as chips. Cut CD Drive cover to basic design, cleared jewel and 2nd LED strip moved to right of the jewel. Looks better. 250GB laptop sata with 80wire 40pin IDE fro. Motherboard. Works a little faster than 3.5 HDD only a few seconds during boot.

I`m more a function over asthetics fella but today i decided to spray paint a crystal from the inside. I steeped the casings in liquid sugar soap as it came
from a nicoteen home and had a lovely yellowish tinge hence volunteered itself to me loose with a paint can. I was passed the idea by a Youtuber
known as sonofsolo69 who I met at a retro game event so I take no glory for the idea. I decided against the jewel mod and haven`t decided if i want
different led`s. For now its hard modded Aladdin XT2 with a custom silent fan (Xilence) and soon to have a 2TB sata fitted.
