There are wires routed through the areas, but it might be possible to squeeze them in

They will NOT fit in the X3 Control Panel. They'll break right away. There is a small clip molded into the case to tuck the bank switch wires, that will break the tube when you snap the faceplate onto the case. Should come in a pack of two, however i bought some the other day to replace a broken one and it only came with one :?

Here is how they look on a stock faceplate...........

this really helps out thanks dude for the pictures,
so one more question is do the cathodes connect to the 4 pin power or did you solder them in?

why not use el wire

They have a 4 pin molex connector that you use to power it. Nice and easy. There is usually a switch in play as well, you can unscrew the switch assembly from the plate it's attached to and mount it in the back of the xbox.

The EL wire is ok but it doesnt put off near enough light and you have to wrap it pretty tight to tuck it away, even then you can still see it. I used that stuff years ago and it just didnt have the wow factor that the cathodes give you.

Old mod with a new fan. This turned out pretty cool as the light really shines through the RF shielding with half of the case empty. Pictures are crappy cell phone pics so the light seems alot more intense than it really is. I used an Evercool 60MM x 20MM LED fan, they move plenty of air, operate on a 3pin plug and are pretty quiet. Runs an X3 CE (thanks Xman) and a 250GB drive, solid gaming box.

Very nice unit this one. One thing I did notice was the jewel. That is just a stock Xbox jewel. Not sure if those Halo cases in the US are the same as here but all the greens I have had and the crystal clears have always had the white Xbox Limited Edition jewel fitted.

Hmmm, interesting point there. I've honestly never seen a translucent green xbox that didnt come with a black jewel. Pics? Sounds like an interesting color scheme but I always thought black looked perfect on these.

Looks really good. Those red LED ports are very cool. Wonder how it would look if you changed the P/E button to red in XBMC settings?

That looks sweet bigcap, what's next on the list? Maybe a red or green LED fan in the back?

Has anyone tried plasti-dip? Thinking of doing some on one of my box's. If so what is the best method of application?

Almost tried that instead of this. I've used plasti-dip on car parts (plastic and fiberglass) and it works pretty dang well. Nothing special needed for application, no sanding or prep aside from giving the case parts a good cleaning with soap and water and letting dry for atleast an hour or so. One tip would be to do lite coats, keep the spray nozzle clean and wait atleast 10 minutes between your coats. Plastidip is super easy to use but the time between coats is a factor as that stuff like to flatten out and lay down after a few minutes. Again keep that nozzle clean, I've seen those start spitting chunks out if not kept clean.

Alright, at work were are going to start plasti-dipping cars so I was going to bring one of the box's and see how it goes. Any suggestions on how to tape off for multiple colors? Same as a car? Also anyone know of somewhere to get a custom jewel?
