500GB HD Space problems

Post by Munch »

I installed a 500gb in my Softmodded 1.6 XBOX via CHIMP.

I made 1:1 copy of the original harddisk.

It boots fine into unleashX but I says there are 0mb Free on Drives E: and F:... (c: drive about 300mbs)

same results with different jumper settings. (Cable select should always work?)

do I have to make some partitions ? I already have C/E/F/H/X/Y/Z ?!

what is the maxium partition size that is possible?

Have you tried formatting F and H, what happened to G, with xbpartitioner :?: You should not have a problem with 500gb and it will choose the cluster size. Thepitt uses xbpartitioner in his 2tb guide. :)

If the new hdd is larger than the current one do not use the 1:1 clone.
Use the select partition option & clone C & E only.

You can use two programs to format the F & G partitions correctly.

XBPartitioner v1.3
Chimp 2618
(option 4 I think)

If using chimp you select option 4 (I'm sure it's that) & select the apropriet option, you can also check the partition cluster sizes, handy.

Idotsfan said Chimp 2618 formats the hdd correctly.

thanks I've redone that and it works now. Strangley I hadn't anyproblems with a 1:1 copy over a 160gb HD?!
