2Tb or not 2Tb
2Tb or not 2Tb
Hi, looking to get a 2Tb Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001, is there a preference over Thailand or China for manufacturer? Thanks

Re: 2Tb or not 2Tb
You can use Chimp to clone the C & E partition from an already softmodded console & then lock the Hdd using chimp to the Xbox you want to put it in.
(you can also use XBHDM, but chimp is easier in my opinion)
Also you must use XBPartitioner v1.3 to partition the extra partitions, F & G must be split evenly.
It's quite simple to do once you know how.

Re: 2Tb or not 2Tb
Hi, I was under the impression that a 2Tb hard drive works better with a modchip over a softmod?

That assumption would be correct i think mainly because if your 2Tb with softmod and locked HDD Xbox ever has a board failure, you can pretty much throw that locked 2TB HDD out with it.Ging3rguy wrote:Hi, I was under the impression that a 2Tb hard drive works better with a modchip over a softmod?

Re: 2Tb or not 2Tb
If you use the correct tools to lock/ unlock the hdd they will set a back up master password and this will aviod this issue there is really no excuse for a locked hdd these days.xman wrote:if your 2Tb with softmod and locked HDD Xbox ever has a board failure, you can pretty much throw that locked 2TB HDD out with it.
all hdd's have 2 passwords a user and a master the master can be used to unlock it if you forget the user password.

...except in the obvious case that you have a v1.6 without a modchip therefore no option.professor_jonny wrote:there is really no excuse for a locked hdd these days.
Re: 2Tb or not 2Tb
At the moment I have a softmod xbox (waiting on a chip). I have changed the hdd to a 160Gb, I used this guide http://www.xbmc4xbox.org.uk/forum/viewt ... =14&t=2040,
it didn't mention setting a master password, can you point me at a tut so I have a better understanding. Thanks

XBHDM sets the master password automatically to;
XBOXSCENE
Locking/relocking the HDD with Configmagic sets the master password to;
TEAMASSEMBLY
Chimp probably sets the master password to one of the above.
You don't need the master password unless you break your Xbox mobo & need to unlock the drive via Chimp or XBHDM.

So if I run Configmagic and just unlock and then lock my HDD my master password will be TEAMASSEMBLY?Rocky5 wrote:XBHDM sets the master password automatically to;
