What version of XDK are you using? Is it an official release or a Team Complex release? Heres a screenshot from the new XBOX Im building for Master13 running Babylon2. You should get the same if used what I PMed you to make the NKP XBE. V will always register as 0 but will be a mirror of C and boot if C becomes corrupted. Its a mirror drive so to speak kinda like Q with XBMC, only the files are physically partioned instead of Q = the XBMC drive and assigning a new letter. If you follow what I said for building an NKP1105 xbe (enable ShadowC and Enable Force Progressive) you should get the same and just by copying the Recovery Partition.bin from Babylon2 to root of C get the V partition. And all the failsafe bliss it provides. What I gave you was a direct copy from the Babylon2 src so should work as well for you as it does for me. And you will also get the auto detect feature so you dont need SD or HD XBE 1 XBE works for both.

Ah ok, I'm using 5933 official, I use it to compile XBMC builds. I also already get that V partition in unleashx with using NKP11.u04 source & no RP.bin, but in XBMC I get the normal R partition & can access the un-protected C files.

I also tried the NKP11.u05.exe & like I said in the PM it doesn't seem to change anything in the final XBE or the source. If I build the source with my batch & build the source with your exe there identical, which shouldn't be the case if the exe patches the source or the final xbe.

Also recover partition.bin does nothing if placed in C, I obviously editied it to how I needed it, but I can't see anything different I removed files from the none shadowc to get an error 13 & there is no rebuild process like it should according to recover partition.bin.

I do appreciate the help.

    4) Fixed issues with UnleashX failing to allow FTP transfers.
    5) NKPatcher settings menu & skin rearranged.
    6) Added a custom splash for UnleashX.
    7) Fixed an NKPatcher compile error "LDR1 space error on kernel 3499"

    13) Added the option to backup the eeprom via the NKPatcher Settings.
    14) Advanced Users Only - Added support for a custom dashboard path.
(if you cannot find the default.cfg, this is not for you)
    15) Added dualbooting support. Defaults to "E:\Alt Dashboard\"
(Custom batch script for windows, to build your own dualboot.settings file, FTP built in & simple to use)
    16) New Dualbooting menu in NKPatcher Settings.
    17) Updated the Skin fonts.
    18) Added a Homebrew sub menu to all dashboards.
    19) Updated the Ernie & NKPatcher Clock time to 01/01/2016 12:00
    20) Folderized the softmod save directory, a hell of a lot cleaner looking.
    21) Moved to NKPatcher 10 for the NoVC sections, allows a longer dashboard path. (NKPatcher 11 is limited to 80 characters)
    22) Forgot to disable the EEPROM Protection when Virtual EEPROM was disabled :
    23) Moved the dashboard settings to its own tools folder, resides inside the nkpatcher settings & added more dashboard paths & enabled indicators.

    25) Now when you exit NKPatcher Settings, it doesn't require a restart :)

    27) Hex edited UnleashX to support 480p in the splash screen.
    28) Modularized NKPatcher Settings.
**) Other improvements to the backend of the softmod, as well as fixes & stuff I have probably forgot.

    Extras Disc v1.0:
    1) Updated XBMC v3.5 to XBMC v3.5.3.
    2) NKPatcher settings menu rearranged & improved.
    3) Added the changed from Softmod v1.0, for the updateupgrade Softmod menu.
    4) Fixed Xored Mini not installing to the Xbox HDD.
    5) Changed how I install the MS Dashboards & made it so they appear in the Applications menu.
    6) Added my custom Configmagic EEPROM Backup Tool.
    7) Changed to zips for applications & dashboards.
8 Added a shortcut (Hold the Black button on boot) to launch Enigmah-X.
(in case your TV doesn't support NTSC or PAL)
    9) Changed how the Factory Reset feature works.
(I now install the UDDAE exploit so you can resoftmod the system, without one of the exploitable games)
    10) Added a Games section with a few of my mods & some homebrew games.
    11) Added a Other Stuff section, for things that dont really go anywhere else.
(Clear Cache & MS Dashboards eg....)
    12) Updated XBMC4Kids to the latest version. (***2016)

I might take a look at RC3 this weekend if I have some time. I used a previous version to re-softmod an old Xbox I have back in March. I'll let you know how it goes if I do it.

Great work here :-)
@Rocky5 i need to upgrade the softmod on an Xbox then switch from Pal to NTSC to enable HD ( I have an HD cable ) , then update Xbmc to the latest , will your disc help me do that ?
I always used Hexen but did download your first version but unfortunately still used Hexen as that was what I was used to :-( .
I have now lost my Hexen Disc and want to give yours a try rather than Hexen .
Cheers

Yeah, you burn the extras disc & after puting it into the Xbox navigate to:

Advanced Features > Upgrade Older Softmods

When it's done the Xbox will eject the disc & ask you to remove it, then reboot.

When you see unleashx, insert the disc & select Launch Disc & then hold the Black button, Enigmah region changer will load for you, press (B) to select NTSC & then press (LT+RT+Black+Start) the disc will load again & then select dashboards > XBMC, then pick where you want to install it to.

I need some help. I have previously softmodded with SID 5.1,

I used the extra's disc to update the softmod and access ISO, this all works great but...

My problem is that when I upgraded I do not get the updated version of XBMC 3.5.3 as my dash. I can locate and run the XBE file of 3.5.3 but cannot get it to run as my current dash. I keep getting the original version of XBMC from the original softmod from the SID disc. I have copied it to drive C, drive E, in the DASH folder, DASHBOARD folder still boots old version.

Please help

Can you upload a couple images of your C & E partition please.

Just to note, the only thing in C should be a folder called Dashboard.

Also what version are you running? 2014 or 2016 RC3?

Hi I am having internet problems at the moment, I have a drive Q? I deleted these files and uploaded XBMC 3.5.3 to this directory. Strange thing is whilst I was transferring these files the Xbox was showing a change is drive E size?

It now appears to boot the later version. Is Drive Q my dashboard?

You are doing it wrong. Launch a third dashboard. Brows to XBMC in your E drive. Q is a virtual path to the real dash on E. Do not run XBMC while you are simultaneously running it. Big nono

You have three options.

1) type the drive letter into the remote site bar, ie C, E, F or G eg....
2) use another FTP program, FlashFXP or other free FTP programs work fine.
3) install build 570 of UnleashX as that's the last dash version before issues started.
(I use the latest version because of its skinning engine updates, if you use an older build the skin won't have all information or labels)

Note:
It's only FileZilla that does this & it doesn't always happen, I can go months without issues & then it starts.

@Rocky5: I just used your Extras disc to upgrade my v1.0 Xbox softmod. Very easy and went smoothly.

I am a late adopter (very late), and bought this used Xbox in 2007 for the sole purpose of running XBMC. Everything has been working great, but recently I started getting into some gaming and outside of XBMC, my 80mm fan mod wasn't moving enough air. Now I have it defaulted to 100% and all is cool again. :D

So thanks for this nice piece of work.

Hi , I updated an old Xbox softmod with your disc , it looks great , thanks for sharing it with us :-)
I have an emulator on the box already that I would like it to boot straight in to , I couldn't see an option so I tried Slayers which I've used in the past to set the default dash but that didn't work .
It's a 1.6 Crystal with stock HD and Pal
Any ideas how I can do it please .
Cheers

You can just stick the emulator in C:\Dashboard\ or one of the 12 dashboard paths.
Or you can setup a shortcut to point to the emulator and just fire that in the C:\Dashboard\ folder.

I can also put together an update package for you that will do it for you if you want.

Just tell me the path you want it to boot.

You can also do the latter yourself if you download the source and edit the "default.cfg" in the "C Partition\nkpatcher\dashloader\" folder and then run the "Build Variants.bat" and use the update zip to install it.
