Personally I love the HTPC cases at the bottom of the pic case wise but I do love the features and effort required to put all this together. Nice work.

Loving the case! It really shows what a console over a decade can do with a little engineering
Did you do the 128mb upgrade yourself?

Re: Work in progress - making the xbox up-to-date and sleek
Yeah nice work! looks really good!
If you're going that high spec why not ask N64 Freak to install some 1Ghz CPU's he seems to have this under his belt now... and run XBMC off SSD for as much as you can squeeze out of her! I know the IDE interface is the bottleneck but SSD's definitely feel 'snapper' and are cheap now!
I'm guessing the slight increase in speed from the CPU and SSD would smoooooth the old lady a little....

Re: Work in progress - making the xbox up-to-date and sleek
Cheers yeah, 1ghz would be good or 1.4ghz I'd try do myself but getting the time to do anything these days is a nightmare so may give N64 freak a nudge at somepoint, as that that won't be 10min project lol.
I considered an SSD but wanted 1TB to clone my 1TB 3.5", i'm really happy with the toshiba 2.5" disk, it initializes and boots really quickly. (a 3.5" would fit in this case but It was a bit tight)
I also considered the pico dc to dc with ac to dc external psu's but couldn't justify even more cost, or even putting the xbox psu external, but I'd need to build a box with fan and getting the correct gauge wire externally may not be neat, thinner/less wires may cause issues also.

Re: Work in progress - making the xbox up-to-date and sleek
Nice work, is there a switch for switching between component and standard AVIP ?
Sent from my android coz apple is for pie.
Re: Work in progress - making the xbox up-to-date and sleek
Cheers, its currently hard set to hidef. I have switches but was toying with adding vga also so not added them yet.
I was going to have just a vga connector and use it for both component and vga and just boot a vga bios to switch but decided against it. Not sure of the best vga route to go yet or if at all. I may just leave as is cos I keep thinking of more things to add/change/do lol.
