Remove msdash modchip

Hi all. Decided to get my old original Xbox from loft and have a play.
Its a hard nodded box with a chip. Can't for life of me remember which chip as its solo long ago. But if I quick press power it boots to stock msdash. Hold power for a couple of seconds it boots to custom dash, and hold longer it boots to flashable.

Now as there is no longer Xbox live, I've no need to keep my chip hidden and would like to just boot directly to my custom dash. Without having to long press power every reset etc.

What's the easiest way to do this?

Softmod the Xbox, or ground the bt point on the chip.

Sounds like an Aladdin chips by the button sequence.

Been trying to find a recent guide on softmodding an original Xbox that chipped. But the all seem to be starting from scratch with non chipped xboxes.
Anyone point me in right direction?

Download the "Quick upgrade.zip" from the link in my sig. place the Prep folder on the E partition and run the default.xbe inside it. Now just press (A) and that's you.

Now when you power on the Xbox it will boot the softmod and if you ever need to fix it just long hold the power button to boot the chip with a disc in the drawer and you're sorted. Best of both worlds

downloaded the zip from the link sofmoddingtools as cant see any upgrade zip in the google drive folder. But the package dosent contain any update

Latest build v1.1.1 > Other > "Quick Upgrade.zip"

But after all that it appears I can no longer ftp into my box.
Tried various cat5 cables that I know work but no joy. Light on port doesn't even come on.
Not sure if the problem is the talktalk super router or the Xbox.
Don't have a crossover cable to try direct to my PC.

Change to Core FTP, latest build of UX and Filezilla dont work together 100%.

or just type the Partition letter into the "Remote server" box.
