Black Screen: Solid Green - Solid Green - Red/Green Flash

Good afternoon -

I have a v1 xbox that had a bad hdd. It would boot fine and display the "contact support" error without a code.

Before I had a better idea of what the heck i was doing i was trying a hot swap to see if xplorer360 would read the drive.

The hot swap didn't work after several attempts.

The next step I took was to use the Test Disk utility as it was documented to read the FATx file system to run a diagnostic to see if the boot sector was corrupt.

I disconnected the hdd from the PC and put it back on the xbox. Once I powered down the xbox and powered back on it would display the following behavior:

No bios boot - blank screen

gpu & console fan spin solid green light,
power cycle,
gpu & console fan spin solid green light,
power cycle,
all fans spin flash green and red light.

***I noticed after the xbox failed to boot as i was retracing my steps that I failed to close the test disk application while it was reading from the disk...**** I wonder if that lead to some sort of corruption after i connected the disk.

I was able to use PiPROM to pull the eeprom from the xbox and verified the number to the eeprom back to the sn on the xbox.

I've removed the clock cap and there was not damage that I could find. I've cleaned the areas with alcohol and inspected traces with a magnifying glass.

I've read a post from Rocky5 and suspect a corruption but not sure...

Thoughts?

Thought I'd come back to update for future reference.

It appears the hotswap process corrupted the bios and that resulted in the frag. I installed the aladdin chip and was able to boot the xbox afterwards. The next step is to flash a new bios. I will get a second aladdin chip and go the m7 route to flash a new bios to TSOP.
