Prepare XBOX hdd on PC
Prepare XBOX hdd on PC
Hello, lets say that i have a slim xbox or a non working dvd-rom and my hdd just failed. Can i prepare a new hdd from pc? Preferably from windows, with an external usb to ide/sata adapter?
These pretzels are making me thirsty!
Re: Prepare XBOX hdd on PC
Yeah although not sure about using an ide/sata converter. You'll need your backup of the eeprom if you need to lock the drive to use with a softmod.
I've used hdm2.2 which runs of a Linux distro and boots from a usb stick (so you're not using windows). Real nice to use and there was a good tutorial floating around the net which also helps, I'll see if I can dig it out tonight

Difficult to understand what you are asking for (assuming you're asking for something!). Also, looks like you may be hijacking a thread. So two requests:ianmcgrain50 wrote:Hi there could u help me I have a old XBOX wae the old xbmc platform old SKOOL but I can't get in2 it it says error can't open file can u help it was work ok WEN servers WER up.r they still DOON or FIXD yet n path uses googlecode but think they don't use that path but I'm not clues up on old XBOX build n paths was ok until servers went down nd help desperately thanks Ian
1. Could you please post in plain English.
2. Could you post in a new thread.
Thanks.

If your tsoped then why not just use unleashx on a disc?cashonly wrote:the hdd does not need to be locked, i have flashed the tsop.

You put the files you want in folders.
CDrive, EDrive, FDrive & GDrive. Then burn unleashx & those folders to a disc & run it on the xbox.
After you have done that, format the F/G partitions with xboxpartitioner 1.3, copy the files from the disc & your done.
Edit:
Never mind lol just realised you said no drive :-/
Download Xbox Softmodding Tool & Extras Disc
XBMC4Kids Mod
Xbox Gamertag = Connxtion

Just delete the first post instead of apologizing, if that's what this is.ianmcgrain50 wrote:It's ok I don't steal threads or hijacking and was basically asking if servers were FIXD or not if still down or not n am no spam bot... thanks
I used XBOXHDM 2.2a and had swift results. That is once I found a PC that would boot it properly. It is IDE Master/slave agnostic and a single-boot format+build+lock tool.
Besides that you can use XBOXHDM 1.9, which will boot from an optical disc.
