Me first, me first.....lol :D
How do we get this thing rolling then?
My drive on the xbox is only a 250gb so coinops 5 wouldn't fit anyways!

Older version... but I know if this is the real deal... this one works. You will need a usenet premium account to grab it:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release Notes
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is the final build of CoinOPS Reignite.

CoinOPS now has several console cores, as well as FBL arcade core.

There's 1401 games in this ShowROOM, but it supports many more and you can
expand as you wish.

There was a specific selection made for this pack to contain only the best of
arcade and console, instead of flooding the end-user with 1000's upon 1000's
of games they'll never play.

Each of the 1401 games has screenshot and preview vid.

It contains cores for:

Arcade (MAME)
Arcade (FBL)
NES
SNES
Gameboy
Gameboy color
Gameboy Advance
Sega SG-1000
SMS
GG
Megadrive
PCE
Atari Lynx

You can add more games yourself, look in the - FILES folder for the lists of
games supported.

Read the FAQ in the - FILES folder for more info on the emulator.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final ???
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not the final rlz of CoinOPS per se, but it is the final rlz of CoinOPS
reignite. The author is still developing, testing and adding stuff.

On his todo list are:

N64 core, PCE CD support, Sega CD support.

He's also looking into:

Openbor, PSX core

But these things are highly beta for the next couple of emu rlz, so we won't be
making a pack for it till it's all developed and bug-free.

When he's all done developing the new breed of CoinOPS, there will be another
pack, but that will take quite some time, so for now, enjoy the final rlz of
CoinOPS_ShowROOM_X_XBOX-iND

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Slow rom load times
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you have slow rom times, it's likely caused by your old MAME / CoinOPS save
folders.

Deleting these folders will fix the problem.

To be honest I'm not sure how big it's going to be but I'd imagine Coinops5 will only be somewhere between 100 and 200Gb so you should be able to fit it on a 250Gb HDD - all depends on just what roms BP decides to include. If he includes loads of Playstation, PCE-CD or any other large CD based games then obviously it will be pretty large but I wouldn't have thought he'd add too many of those.

I have all the extra packs here but still need to set them up with the latest Coinops release - I need to stick a bigger HDD in one of my xboxes as the largest I have at the moment is only 80Gb (used to be perfect for Coinops but no more :-(). I'll be happy to copy it and send it on when I have it properly organised and tested - or we could wait for the official Coinops5 release. If we're sending the HDD to UK then it will only cost £3.49 to have it sent to your local collect+ store for pickup.

Because I, and I doubt anyone else, has a spare 2TB laying around. Bare in mind after its been posted to a few people it could easily be damaged. The delivery people love to lump and bump stuff around.
I'd far rather loose an old 250GB IDE than a shiny new 2TB SATA drive.

I agree it would be better if we could somehow get hold of a SATA hdd, much more compatibility and they also work in USB caddys. Yes I know you can get IDE caddys too but I'd imagine most people have SATA ones. If nobody has a spare SATA kicking about maybe the few of you that want the HDD could chip in for one? Not exactly sure how you'd work that out but I guess you could pick up a second hand 250gb one for under £20 on ebay.

 Am I the only one who hoards old computers and components?

My PC doesn't have IDE, I don't think any of the new motherboards do, but I have plenty of older PC's that do. If I ever need to access an IDE drive though, I use the PCB I ripped out of an old USB IDE hard drive caddy.

Also I think it would be best to keep the drives within the same country. The reasons being: 1. postal cost and 2. greater chance of the drive getting damaged.

I'm sure they'll be someone on here in the USA who's willing to grab Coinops 5 and ship it to you GhostlyGamer.

And USB 2.0 to IDE and SATA 2.5 3.5 for £2.69. Although it looks like you'd need a way to power the hard drive.

You could also try an external case or an external HDD (like the WD Passport).

Thisway you only have to connect with USB.

Please Please Help....
I need somewhere to download this fast without me needing to have an account or anything.
Just quick downloading!!!
I reckon it will take ages to sort out someone putting it on an old drive and posting it around!

It's available on UseNet if you're able to download NZB files. Just type "Coinops 4" into www.binsearch.info

Hey Lee,

while were on the topic I thought I'd let you know Im planning to rent another dedicated server/seedbox so when and if CPS5 is released I could give you an account to directly FTP coinops and whatever addon packs, From there you can load hdd's for your UK friends. Soon as I choose a suitable provider I'm gonna do the same as last time build me some more ratio till its released, In the mean time you might even want some of the files like psx roms etc

Sorry it's a little complicated and I don't currently have time to give a tutorial but you need to install sabnzbd and you'll need to sign up for an account with a usenet provider, all the ones I could find do charge but if you want to try a free one you can sign up with these http://xsusenet.com/

The retention on the free accounts now say 10 days (it was about 500 days when I first signed up so not sure if that's a mis-print or not) but if it is 10 days that's probably going to be no good for you. I don't even have any decent links for you for guides so you'll just have to do some research on usenet, I'm sure there must be some decent info on wiki. I think I could actually do upgrading so if anyone can recommend a cheap option for me that will be appreciated.
