recommended USB capture device

Post by Tom M. »

I am looking for some good but cheap USB capture device to record my Xbox through standard analogue composite / audio connection to notebook. The best if the device would allow you to record raw stream through VirtualDub for example. Simply something that is cheap but works with no stupid restrictions and has good quality build. Windows 10 32 bit. Thanks for any feedback.

I've used a "Diamond VC500 USB 2.0 One Touch" and "Hauppauge 1512 HD-PVR 2" with success. The One Touch is pretty crappy though. The software is also hot garbage and seems like it was designed for Windows XP. The hauppauge device works better but can also be a bit touchy on what sort of video streams it wants to detect at times.

I switched to a BlackMagic DeckLink Mini Recorder (PCI, not USB) and use a component to HDMI converter and that has been the most reliable method I've tried.
