I am looking to get a small switch with the 3 positions so I can run 2 different lights. But I am not sure what to search for on English. Will a 3 position switch be correct? Found some sliding ones on eBay, will link to them later. Description just says on and off, but it also says 3 position.

that switch will likely be on off on setup with one light with the switch at one end and one light with the switch at the other end (changeover switch)

Single pole triple throw (sp3t). This you can use for 3 on positions. (Misread your original post so edited to add more)

Single pole double throw (spdt) will give you 2 on positions.

Google these to get an understanding of what you need.

I may have been very bad at formulating my first post. I am looking for a small size glide switch with 2 on positions and 1 off position. I will read on the links and see what I can learn
