Orginal XBOX nickname issue

Does anyone know how to successfully change the nickname on a soft-modded Classic xbxox. I go to network settings and change the nickname to what I want but when I exit and go back to the same settings, the old name comes back. I think that a game save or something keeps pulling the original owners name as my nickname. Any suggestions?

Try to change name using UnleashX settings.

Is it a soft mod with shadow c ?
I don't know if it could be the problem but it is a suggestion.

The Network settings have nothing to do with the XBox's nickname - they're simply an option to change the network username (and password).
As MrMajst3r indicated the nickname is an UnleashX dashboard feature. You only see it if the skin being used supports its display in its skin.xml.
To change that UnleashX nickname go to System > Settings > System and you will see under System Settings/Xbox Info the third item down is: "Xbox Name". Click on that and use the virtual keyboard to change it.
