There is a couple of different methods of joining pipes but now days many plumbers opt for thermowield joins where you stick the pipe in a tool it heats it up then you press it into the socket and it melts it together.
there has been problems with this in the past in older houses as the copper hot water pipes were used as earthing and if a section is replaced with plastic it breaks the earth earth continuity of the earthing system.
many plumbers have injured or killed them selves not being aware of this problem, or left an installation dangerious.
of note xman I see that asnzs has changes and in the new codes of practice in the june update and solar systems need to be certified and inspected by an inspector if the voltage of the exceeds 48v and as you are using inverters it will require inspection.
you have also earthed your frame for the shed?
I saw a home owner get a 20,000 fine in the last electrical flyer for not doing this and one of his kids getting a shock form a live coming into contact the frame in a barn house conversion.
gone are the days the home handy man can wire their own house how ever they want
