Any Chromecast users ?
Bought one just for playing with and read that there are some hacks available, hopefully it arrived today or at worst tomorrow so i can have a play.
If its no good i'll buy an RPi but it should be useful even un hacked.

Well because all the device does is allow you to connect other devices to it and desplay the connected devices actions on you screen.bigkidoz wrote:Why the hell not ?xboxprince wrote:Why would you want to hack that.

I mainly only buy stuff that can be hackedxboxprince wrote:Why would you want to hack that.
Once hacked I am ashamed to say a lot of my stuff is not as interesting,
Plex is working on this now too so just for that would be good for £25 quidish.
Not as good a deal as the 10 pound now tv box mind but I think I will still get one for tinkering purposes.....

Re: Any Chromecast users ?
Hmmmm I'm finding this a pretty pointless device to be honest... I was bored within 30 minutes...
I guess if you want to show Youtube or Netflix then you would benefit.. other than that... not really much you can do with it.
The picture isnt that great.. apparently even 1080p content is coded down to 720p....
For me a dust gathering device

Re: Any Chromecast users ?
I'm thinking to get one and "cast" content from a XBMC4Xbox through the remote app - if possible to send movie art, subtitles and things like that from an XBMC4Box that would be great, this way it will do mostly the "media manager" or "media storage" part, and have the Chromecast play HD videos and such, or scenarios where you have a single XBMC4Xbox machine in the house and multiple TVs with their own Chromecast...

That would be good and at least make it more usable than they are .Dan Dar3 wrote:I'm thinking to get one and "cast" content from a XBMC4Xbox through the remote app - if possible to send movie art, subtitles and things like that from an XBMC4Box that would be great, this way it will do mostly the "media manager" or "media storage" part, and have the Chromecast play HD videos and such, or scenarios where you have a single XBMC4Xbox machine in the house and multiple TVs with their own Chromecast...
